They are more unique than people will admit to. McGrady was really bad entering the NBA, Tatum is not. Size and position, and ages, the Carter and McGrady idea makes some sense. Pippen was the sidekick, Tatum isn't. Jordan was always overrated, couldn't beat Bird in one playoff game, but maybe Brown doesn't equal him. Tatum plays big in big games, Pippen gets migraines.

Erving and Toney, not really. Pierce and Allen, West and Baylor, Scott and Worthy. Harper and Manning? At their best and healthiest as Clippers, Harper same size and Manning maybe only an inch taller than Tatum. Harper the athlete, Manning versatile and efficient. Manning was more inside for his offense than Tatum.

J Brown is M Richmond, J Tatum is C Mullin. The athlete and the shooter, but very different. Irving would be Timmy. Richmond was the strong athlete with a 3, Brown is the jumping athlete with a 3. The position and percentages work for a Tatum and Mullin comparison.
