Given the recent news of Square Enix taking development of FF7 back into their own hands, it's probably safe to assume they're starting nearly from scratch. I think even 2 years would be conservative. And in the end, if they stick with the same things we already knew about it, I was expecting it to be crap anyway. I mean, of all the people that actively wanted a remake of that game, how many were asking for it to be completely different? Somewhere in the neighborhood of zero.

Personally, I wouldn't grade Microsoft very highly. So we'll have new installments in the only exclusive franchises they have, but who cares. New Halo, yawn. New Gears, yawn. Ok they bought those studios, which is something, but until they put out something meaningful, it doesn't mean anything. Buying Rare was supposed to be huge for them and we saw how that played out.

I'm just a big curmudgeon when it comes to gaming these days. Things continue to move in a direction designed for casuals. A large portion of the gaming population is just people who play Fortnite and PUBG. That's kinda where we're at. I'll enjoy whatever good single player games that trickle out, but they're getting rarer and rarer for me. It's all about generic multiplayer stuff now. And if it's single player, it's generic copy paste open world trendy crap. I'm shaking my old man fist at it all.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Being a PC/Nintendo guy... I’m thrilled wth Madden and Halo making their way to the PC. Tons of good games announced so far.

Holy ****. The last of us 2 looks absolutely amazing. I can't even put in words how hyped I am for this game.

Looked way too scripted for me to think the real game will be like that but nice none the less. Ghost of tshushima looked amazing too, control looks interesting. Sony doing well so far.

Wasn't really feeling Sony's presentation. Killer graphics... meh gameplay IMO...

Edit: Last of Us 2 will probably be amazing but not my style of game. KH3 looks good.

You might want to play Uncharted 4 if you need reassurance on that. Naughty dog is the best dev in the game. This was in game gameplay and I'm confident that it will play the same when it comes out.

I wish game devs would learn from massive hits like Zelda BoTW, GTA V, Skyrim, etc... Hack and slash is fun for a bit but it gets old quick. Spider-Man looks like a Batman game with a Spider-Man skin on it. Maybe it's just me but I want more variety and depth from games these days.

I'm not mad at ya! I loved the Batman series... I'm just not sure I would want to do it again.

I've played nearly every naughty dog release ever, it looked very heavily scripted to me. The way it flowed was in game engine but not ingame game play.

Im close to 100% certain that the gameplay shown was not scripted. The first last of us had specific sections of gameplay that played out the same way. The last of us isn't an open world game, it's linear so sections of the gameplay does tend to look more scripted. As far as the transition from the wedding to the first gameplay scene, that part could be scripted and might not happen that way but everything shown is in the game itself.

Looking forward to it. I haven't picked up my switch in quite a few months. Hoping to see more of the new Metroid game they announced last year. Excited to see Smash as well.
