Right but Klay isn't a stationary shooter. He does his work before catching the ball. MPJ doesn't look like he has the mobility to beat guys off the ball. He looks like a stationary shooter.

I don't get the hype around the dude, the more I watch the less impressive he looks every time.

You have to take into account that has going to be guarded by 4s and 5s at the NBA level. With his skill level that's a major benefit afforded to him in contrast to a Klay who isn't big enough to warrant 4s covering him

But what's he going to do against them though? His handles are very shaky and he's a toothpick with a fragile frame. His footwork in the post is pretty good but he's going to have to work extra hard fighting for position in the NBA just trying to get to that spot, so I don't really see how he's going to consistently be able to create separation in the NBA.

I think Porter's handle is fine if he's a full time 4 and occasional small ball 5. Again we can't really be sure what he's going to be because in High School he was just more of an athletic freak and could get what he wanted when he wanted and he obviously came back less than 100% at Missouri. Not many legit 6'10" guys can shoot on the move like he can. That's already a tremendous skill to have combined with his very functional athleticism when healthy. His release point is high too so bigs are going to have to push up on him to cover it which will only allow him to play off that jumper even more. Handle can be improved. He's a raw slate but I believe in his natural talent especially at 9.

I'd take a chance on Knox but not at 9. It might be a little unfair to have motor questions about an 18 year old kid but as of right now, he looks to me like a Tim Thomas type. One game he will look amazing and drop 35. The next game, he will play lazy and drop 5. But again, he is 18. This is where the scouts need to do their homework. I'd take him at 13 or 14 though.

Not that it is a huge deal, on your website the link for the facebook page on the top doesn't work. The twitter link does work.

For Facebook I have "Sorry, this content isn't available right now
The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in."

Hm...crap. I wonder if it has to do with me deactivating my facebook account?

Thanks for letting me know, though. I'll look into it!

I agree with this in terms of skillset. Those are his most effective positions. I'm concerned about his fragility and general softness at these positions though.

It is funny how opinions change from year to year with people. Last year a lot of us including myself wouldn't touch Dennis Smith JR because of his knees, yet this year people including myself would gamble on Porter. At the end of the day I don't think he's going to be available for us, but it certainly makes for an interesting debate. Regular fans will never truly know what his medicals look like, but if he's there at nine that is a telling sign possibly.

I could live with that. Where there is no risk, there is no reward.

After analyzing how draft picks pan out and player career trajectory over the years...

1) Whoever Atlanta drafts will get rookie of the year.

2) Doncic, Bamba, Sexton, Diallo, Grayson Allen and whoever the Spurs/Warriors select will wind up being the best players in this draft after looking back 8 years from now.

3) If there was ever a year where the Knicks must acquire another 1st round pick, this is the year. Too many sleepers out there.

4) Liangelo Ball will end up on the Rockets somehow someway.

Completely agree.

Between his lack of handle, poor IQ/feel, softness and injury concerns, I don't think the juice is really worth the squeeze with Porter.

Especially since there are better options from a team composition standpoint.

Sexton isn't even close to Westbrook athletically.

If you remove the athleticism, all you have is a short SG who can't shoot or run an offense.

I think Miles is a better Smith analogy. He's a baller but... I wish he was a little bit taller. The concerns with Smith weren't just his injury history.

Excuse me sir, I was trying to make a broad stroke analogy. I don't see it with Miles personally, he looks like a new age Corliss Williamson/Jerome Kersey that discovered a three point line. Just something about him I can't shake off as to why I don't really care for him.

Small sample size of dominance with Kp and Frank leads me to believe adding a shooter and defender like Mikal could do wonders if those 3 are the core.

Frank
Hardaway
Mikal
rugged spread 4
KP

I mean think about the defensive potential. I think im team Mikal all the way now. Tired of not going with fit. Mikal is exactly the type of player this teams needs. Winner, high % shooter, Individual defender, team defender, and good character. I forgot, WINGSPAN.

Oops lol. The censor got my word, but you captured my point. He’s basically Westbrook with a lot less talent, and that’s a negative player.
