The knicks have nothing like this on there roster, you might as well draft Miles Bridges because he's the closes one that can cause that kind of havoc once he puts the ball on the floor and makes a move towards the rim which opens the gates for the rest of your offense and he can fill that void at small forward.

wouldnt Porter be a better option if we could figure out a way to land him ? provided his back checked out.

Mark my words, Porter will be a soft NBA player and be the kind that really pisses off the fans. There is no Draymond Green in him....
How do you know this?
Nobody can know. it's my opinion. He looks and plays soft. If anyone is like Tim Thomas, it's Porter. Shooter with size and skill, but shows little inclination to bang. I think NBA guys will make him cry....

So he made every good shot and missed his bad shots?
Would you say that JR Smith can't shoot or that he has poor shot selection?

KP playing the 4 is not why we were not a good defense. Jack/hardaway are not defenders you defense is already screwed in the backcourt that puts extra pressure on your front court to pickup your defensive lapses
Kanter is not a defender either that puts additional pressure on your help defender in porzingis to not only concentrate on whats happening on the perimeter but now he has to try and cheat off his man in order to save face at the rim.
It's not even just the defense for me, I want them to play A LOT faster. I'm sick of this team being slow and always playing in the half court while teams just kill us in transition with quickness and versatility. I want some horses that can get up and down the floor with the best of them, I don't see how having two centers makes us more dynamic on offense. The only big that I really see being able to provide that type of versatility for us would be Marvin Bagley

Didn't he play like 4 games though?

I would say JR can shoot 1 out of every 5 games. When he's on he's on, unfortunately he's very inconsistent. Have you ever seen Lonnie get on a JR like shooting game? You must have since that's who you're using as kind of a comparison. He's a better 3 point shooter then 2 point shooter when he is on.
MaseInYourFace wrote:Isn't Porter a finesse perimeter guy? I see a little Durant in him. He's gonna look soft with that kind of game. Also calling a guy soft off a few AAU or HS games (I highly doubt you guys watched each and every one of those games) seems like lazy analysis to me.

He didn't struggle because of poor lateral quickness. KP struggled with the perimeter because he constantly had to shift between protecting the paint, blocking shots and guarding opposing 4's. Kanter isn't a rim protector, nor is he known for his defense. Essentially KP dealt with the responsibilities of guarding his own man AND protecting the paint, while also carrying the offensive load on a talent-barred team. That takes a toll on anybody, yet he still managed to be one of the best rim protectors in the league.
Now imagine if he had an actual defensive presence behind him so he didn't have to block every single shot. He played well when he had a true center like Lopez next to him. I can't speak for Carters defense, but a guy like Bamba would make life so much easier for him.
It’s like Fox News around here sometimes
This fallacy about Kp being a terrible lateral mover is such bs. He’s very strong defending wings on switches or picks largely because he doesn’t overcompensate and try to match foot speed. Instead he uses his length to disrupt shots or to recover and block.
But some fans really truly don’t know anything about this game and only see the mismatches that are effective. They can’t see the ones that get covered. Or the other 80% of the game that’s not jumpers and dunks.
You think Kristaps is a good perimeter defender?
His defense on the perimeter is as cringeworthy as his crossover, how to this day i will never understand how defenders let him get away with it without stealing the ball.

nobody knows what he is or what he's been working on during his recovery time. We got high school footage and the game he played in the tournament when he wasnt even fully healthy or had any type of rhythm. Cant really judge off either things, how he looks in workouts will be his calling card.
At there very least we know he has size, athletic, can shoot, has handles that look like they can be evolved and he's lightskinned for Greenies satisfaction. But he aint been in no real action how well he can do anything against real comp is up in the air
