Re: Draft Thread 13 - The Field Thins
Interesting that when Frank's man on man defense was brought up, a lot was said about how man to man defense isn't as important, it's team defense that's where it's at now. And now that Mikhal is touted for stellar team defense, it's being brought up that his individual defense isn't the most special. I'd guess it's not the same posters but it would be fascinating if there was any overlap.

Basically said Mikal is more of a team defense guy, and struggles when it comes to one on one defense. The scout also brought up the game against Michigan where he was constantly getting blown by.
The scout said Mikal is more along the lines of Tony Snell and Wesley Johnson, than he is Ariza, and couldn't be Robert Convington on his best day, but Convington on his medium best day.
Said Mikal would be better for a winning team in need of one more versatile wing. Also said "i don't even have him in the conversation for a top 10 pick."
I listened to that podcast, and I honestly trust some of the posters here more than these "professional" scouts.
LOL Fat Kat pullin out all the receipts on these bum ass scouts

I'm starting to worry that Mikal won't be there at 9.

Not that it wasn't important, but not nearly as important as it was 20 years ago etc. I could see the validity of that - changes in rules, athleticism make schemes and team defense more important than they were. It's not as if they said that players could be poor defenders. Something to the effect that the value of lockdown defenders etc isn't what it was. This is based on memory, so I could be a little off - don't want to misrepresent.

JR, like Starks, would not be able to do the shii he does with Ewing, Oak, and LJ cinstantly in his ear.

It's either that or he got hurt.
The promise would have to be Chicago.
