I don't know if I'm ready to buy this Lonnie Walker news. I'm not exactly against us taking Lonnie but it's kind of weird when you think about it. Perry said that the only way they take a PG is if that PG does something that our current PGs can't do. Well the same thing can be applied to our 2 guard spot and when you look at Lonnie he doesn't really add much of anything that we currently don't have with THJ and Dotson and even Courtney Lee. Unless there is a trade in the works, this Lonnie Walker interest is a little weird, almost like we are being Hoodwinked. Again, I'm not saying I would be against Lonnie, would rather take a chance on him than another big or a forward that's close to being maxed out in terms of his ceiling, but it would just be a strange pick for us unless we have serious plans of cleaning up the 2 guard spot and I'm all for it.

:o well damn. Kings continue to do King like things.

I hope this isn't true and it's just posturing. Ugh. I spoke with one of the guys in their front office and kept in touch (emailed last week, actually), and he's really nice. Similar background as me, actually. If they're picking MPJr, I don't think he was involved.

Why do you want it not be true?

I agree with you completely on this. If anything I though this would be the year where Dotson can show some development and earn some burn as a backup 2 guard. At the end of the day I have never been a fan of glut on a roster and I don't think we take Lonnie with the logic of "we will be able to trade THJ or Lee" - that will be extremely difficult. Again, this all depends on where Lonnie ranks on the Knicks draft board. I wonder if they feel that Mikal is 1A and Lonnie is their 1B (over the likes of Knox, Miles Bridges and others)

Lonnie has looked like a beast in all the videos. He’s been putting in that work.

Maybe that's what they are doing, trying to make sure he's not the next Mitchell, which he's not.

I like Troy Brown but thought he was extremely raw and would’ve benefited from staying in college but the talent is there. What’s your NBA comparison?

More athletic, way better defensive (he's a very good defender now), (and eventually) a better shooting Evan Turner.

That sounds like a damn good player, honestly. Hell, even regular Evan Turner with better shooting is pretty nice.

Yea I agree Hezi. I’m not understanding the interest for this particular team. I like the stroke and the athleticism but he isn’t a positionless player and thus will create a surplus at the 2.

If we trade down and get 12 and 13 id be so happy with that.

Lonnie Walker and Miles Bridges would be a sweet get.

Return to New York Knicks
