I don't like it, but I think it's very likely we'll move away from Tolliver and hope Leuer can step into his role.

Even though Tolliver was so much better, as you said, lots of holes, not a lot of money to fill them. Thanks SVG.

I would like Kyle Anderson but I think San Antonio will match any deal we could offer him

Tolliver is a good pro but winning teams dont give the minutes you give to AT. I'll respect Casey if he gives Ellenson his Minutes and brings something out of him. With that said I'd love Mario for that price. Longshot though

Stefanski was pretty upfront when commenting today. There’s really not room to do anything this significant in free agency unless they can unload salary.

He pretty much said what you see is what will pretty much be there opening day save for some minor signings.

Well this approach can't be much worse than SVG giving end of the bench roleplayers huge contracts above market value on July 1st.

Won't miss SVG bidding against himself at all.

Yeah this and his draft record is the reason he is sitting on his porch in Florida instead of still working for the Pistons.

Doesn't Arn Tellem have a strong relationship with Hezonja? I remember hearing a rumor pre-draft that Hezonja was intentionally ignoring teams trying to drop to the Pistons. It wasn't hard to find this old article from 2015:

We can’t offer the full MLE to anyone without hitting the LT threshold.

Unless a trade that cuts significant money happens we aren’t using it.

Just to put a number to this, without counting cap holds and assuming the non-guaranteed contracts are kept (they will be) Detroit is sitting at $117,901,065 in committed salary for 2018. The tax threshold last season was $119,266,000. It will probably go up a bit, but not enough to where the Pistons could use the full MLE to get anyone significant.

Also, the $117,901,065 is for 12 players. If the second round pick is kept that's 13 with a minimum salary tacked on to the salary total. Will be interesting to see what happens with Tolliver and/or Ennis. I'm guessing the latter is kept.

Yep.

What we’re looking at right now is why I hated the free agent signings we were making. We’re up against a bubble now, a bubble that might cost us Bullock if he’s good again this season, and will prevent us from adding guys for the next two years barring some trade wizardry.
