Incredibly detailed write-up, much enjoyed reading through it, will have to come back with some questions later, but great work!

Thanks, man! I'll answer your questions if you tell me a bit more about your crush Gary Clark. I listed him at the end as intriguing only because you kept championing him and I wanted to figure out what you are seeing in him – after all, we are pretty similar when it comes to the assessment of players. But yeah, I haven't seen nearly enough of him to rank him with any confidence and I hope you can provide me with some more insights (especially what role exactly you expect him to be able to excel in).

I already confessed I'm Gary man ;)

I've actually watched more Clark than probably any other prospect, the American Conference has some sort of deal with one of our like 6 channels.

#1 reason I like him is because I think he can switch onto pretty much anyone and be a good defender, instincts through the roof. Offensively can punish smalls in the post and stretch bigs to the perimeter (think his shot is for real). Halfway between PJ Tucker and Draymond Green on the continuum.
I bought a boat.

The Power... I like your board and details.

Luka JJJ Mika’s for me. They will impact winning more than anyone else in the draft.

1. Bamba (I like him so much more than Ayton. The intelligence, work effort, I think he'll overcome his motor issues in the NBA, and he mainly needs to focus on defense and stand in a corner on offense anyways)

2. Jaren Jackson (more of a reflection of my negativity on Bagley/Doncic/Ayton than actual infatuation with JJ, who I just think will be successful as a very high-floor player. And honestly his upside could be min-Anthony Davis)

3. Doncic (the first time I saw him on tape I questioned the hype because he looked soooo slow. But some people are born winners. Doncic is a born winner, and I get how cheesy that narrative is with people like Napier and Okafor. But I really believe it with this dude)

4. Ayton (the more I read on him the more I feel that he doesn't like basketball enough to ever reach his ceiling)

5. Marvin Bagley (I get that he is position-less in a bad way, but his motor is too high. I think he'll break past a Faried mold and find some way to just be a winning player).

6. Miles Bridges (he got some nasty in him, depends on team whether you take a sure-thing in Miles or a boom/bust in Trae)

7. Trae Young (this pick could cost a GM his job)

8. Mikal Bridges (I actually think he's pretty overrated on the internet, but getting Trevor Ariza with 80% of his athletecism in today's NBA is super, super valuable and so many players struggle as they translate their roles in the NBA. Mikal Bridges is born as a role player and has embraced it his whole career. He'll translate super super well.)

9. Carter

10. MPJ (just on potential, but I think his median outcome is a player who's overpaid relative to output needed for a championship cornerstone player)

11. SGA (I think he'll be better than MPJ but the upside of MPJ is too high even if it's a minority outcome, where I feel confident SGA will be a good player)

12. Josh Okogie

13. Lonnie Walker

14. Sexton (love his background story and personality SOOOO much, but jeez I hate his game)

15. Donte D. (I know right now that putting him this high is going to make me look stupid in 5 years, )

16. Zhaire Smith (I think he's overhyped tbh)

My rankings can be seen in my mock, but among the commonly projected lottery picks, I am highest on Doncic and lowest on Porter. I feel pretty strongly Porter will not be a Top 10 player from this draft. I would consider taking 50/50 odds he won't even have a Top 15 career from among this class.

I think are my top 10 in order, need to look more into Miles Bridges.

Looking more, 4-6 are a tossup. I like Bamba best I think but his frame spooks me a little. Those I change by the minute. Might even flip Sexton and Bridges.

Edit: Screw it, Bamba's 4, Carter/Ayton 5 and 6.

Doncic
JJJ
MPJ
Bamba
Carter
Ayton
Bridges
Sexton
Miles
Young

Dropping Porter at this point, so

Doncic
JJJ
Bamba
Carter
Mikal Bridges
Ayton (the more I read the more I question, very boom or bust with him and Bamba but I question his defense more)
MPJ
Sexton
Young
Miles Bridges

Starting to feel better about Trae now too, tempted to put him over Sexton but I love the way Sexton plays.

I feel like a lot of the rest are guys I don't have a great handle on or that I'm not just not high on. I'm not big on Collin Sexton or Robert Williams, so I'd have to really watch some more stuff on the guys that are ranked lower than them to go beyond the 13 I have listed.

I am really not keen on this draft right now. I like Deandre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Mikal Bridges, Jaren Jackson and Lonnie Walker at the moment.

Nope, I'm admittedly really low on him defensively and it's my biggest concern of any prospect at the top of the draft.

Here's my final board with tiers:

Image

The Porter Jr ranking is with a HUGE asterisk. I have no idea what the deal with his health is and which of the latest reports are based on him trying to make certain teams pass on him and which are for real. If he truly has serious health problems I would take him off the board completely so... yeah... keep that in mind - it's based on assuming good health.

Wow. #1??? The medical red flags should drop him out of the top 10.

Serious question, why is that? Isn't offense the most important skill a player has to have? Also, are defensive specialist easier to find? Lastly, isn't an offensive player who has defense always considered a top five player? Two way prospects are few and far between, even most superstar NBA players aren't two-way stars. I think it all starts with offense, for example, Curry offense is soo good, no one can guard him. But defense first guys kill you on the other end. See Capela and Gobert. That can't be net positive like a Curry or Harden who were both known to have horrendous defense. With that, obviously none of these guys coming in are Harden and Curry, but I hope you get my point.

I get your ranking, but if you are strictly ranking players defense first, I don't know. Btw, my questions is just general, it doesn't have to be towards this draft.

I'd rather have offense and work on defense versus the other way around.

Depends.

If you are at least able to play team defense without exposing a team or showing its the defensive awarness that is lacking that is a huge problem. If it is just you not having a great reach and stuff like that that can be worked around and fixed. But you being a serious liability on defense is a serious matter and even if your offense is good, there are other who can also play offense but at least are not ticking defense bombs

For a big? No, mot at all. Name the last good team with a big who was offense first and poor defensively. They don't exist.

Defense doesn't just work itself out. If it did everyone could play it well
There's a reason teams with those guys consistently suck.

I dont really do big boards but relative to draft position and other opinions:

Like (could be something special):
Ayton, Doncic, JJ, Young, Miles Bridges, Walker, Okobo, Okogie, Jerome Robinson, Melvin Frazier (GO TULANE)

Dislike (dont see what others see):
Bagley, Porter Jr, Kevin Knox, Gilgeous Alexander, Zhaire Smith, Anfernee Simmons

No idea on (could be stars or total busts):
Bamba, Sexton

Neutal on (role player potential high in these ones)
Carter, Mikal Bridges, Williams, Troy Brown

Anyone else I either havent scouted enough or weren't memorable one way or another on everyone else.
