Re: NBA Draft 2018 5.0: Lucky #7 and 22.
Makes sense, I think the last time Sacramento tried to do this Doncic threatened to stay in Europe so this could still get interesting but if I was them this is the pick I'd be trying to make. I think we could still trade up for the pick if we wanted but what I'm guessing is they tried to trade it and didn't like the return and are going to use it instead. Seems like a heavy sellers market and I'd love to take advantage of that at the 4 if we can without giving up the 7.

I don't get why people are scared to draft Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr and Wendel Carter Jr . But love the Idea of drafting Mo Bamba. Sure he could be the next Rudy Gobert but he could be the next Hashem Thabeet , Nerlens Noel and Samuel Dalembert. He to me has bust potential just as everybody else .So I don't why he never gets bashed on this board

Everyone’s impressed with the lip service even though he’s not even saying anything I don’t expect from someone playing basketball. Just a bunch of overhyped answers to basic questions everyone gets asked.

If Kings do draft Luka i'm going to assume the Griz will trade that pick. I don't see them being too excited about drafting Josh Jackson. I'm assuming they want to compete right away

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I know it's unlikely but I'm hoping the Bulls acquire the #4 Pick without giving up #7.

Then hope we draft MPJ. It'll be like we didn't get a pick at all this year.
Lol u do make me laugh though
But this comes from the same guy that believes no talent in a top heavy draft is elite and would rather trade 7 for 12 n 13
To be clear, I would only rather trade 7 for 12/13 if I'm otherwise stuck with Trae, MPJ and Carter...I don't feel too different about next 5-6 guys so would rather have 2 of them.

It's possible Miles Bridges is available at #14.
Now if we land both MSU boys with JJJ at #7 and Miles at #14...
I feel like it's pretty unlikely Miles is there at 14. Personally, I'd take him over Mikal, I think he's on par with Carter and Young, but even if he goes behind all those guys, that would mean Charlotte passing on him at 11 in favor of SGA (highly unlikely), then the Clippers passing on him with both their picks even though he's clearly the best player left on the board.
I'd pick Miles over Mikal as well. Truth be told I won't be mad if the Bulls selected Miles Bridges with the #7 Pick, especially if Ayton, Bagley, JJJ, Doncic, Bamba, and MPJ are no longer on the board.

His pick reminded me of: http://www.tradingcarddb.com/GalleryP.cfm/pid/6666/Corie-Blount?PageIndex=3
I think that may end-up being a decent low-end comp too.

Re: NBA Draft 2018 5.0: Lucky #7 and 22.
So, I know everyone loves JJJ but does anybody believe he'll be anything more than Serge Ibaka was in his prime? Does he project to be a better player than him or are we just at the point where a prime Ibaka is much more valuable in todays NBA than he was 5-6 years ago?
JJJ doesn't project to be anything more than a 15 ppg scorer and an average rebounder for his position, but the defense should be elite as long as he stays out of the foul trouble that kept him off of the floor at Michigan St.

I think he has slightly more potential than prime Ibaka on offense, showing glimpses of ability to put the ball to the floor. But imo main "problem" with Ibaka was that he never played his best offensive and defensive game at the same time. He was All NBA defender first few years, than developed more versatile offensive skillset, but fell off defensively.
If JJJ manages to put it together at the same time, and for a more extended period of time than Ibaka did, and in top of that he does it all playing C not PF, well then, in todays NBA, that is hell of player, you could argue a top 20-30 with regard to impact on winning.

No offense to the board but the 'Mo Bamba love' for 'most' of these posters didn't start until workouts & measurements came in. There's nothing wrong with that either.
I could count on one hand how many have been on the Bam-Wagon since the NCAA season was in effect.
Bamba was my favorite center project coming out of HS. Even Ayton said he was incredibly tough to score against. He interviewed Ayton & another prospect at the UC before the NCAA season and I've been a huge fan ever since.
But to answer your question, Mo Bamba does not get bashed anymore because it's unconstitutional.

The Lakers need to dump salary to get Lebron. I think we should consider taking Ingram from them. He would fit great at our 3 spot. We would have to take back Deng to make them want to. Deng can retire a Bull

I just hope it’s JJJ
If we are going by hype trains, JJJ is probably the least hyped of the top 7, maybe he's the one that falls.
I can see a scenario where JJJ would fall to 7. It's based on the assumption that JJJ is the best big in terms of fit with modern NBA, but not necessarily the best in terms of superstar ceiling. He's the guy that you can easily plug to any lineup and he'll be effective. A pretty low maintenance guy in a way.
I can see Suns, Kings, Hawks, Grizzlies swing for the fence and prioritize hit or miss guys like Doncic, Ayton, Bagley, Bamba, Young, even Porter. If this happens, I think it'll depend on what Dallas wants to do, it's been a popular consensus that Dallas will pick up a big, and JJJ fits that bill. If Dallas skips, I feel Orlando will pass as well because they have Jonathan Isaac who they seem to be pretty high on. If Bulls is presented with this opportunity, I'd pick JJJ without thinking.
EXACTLY. DAL has to pick Bagley or Bamba over JJJ. I think MPJ and Young will both go top 6. If they do we have a shot at JJJ.
If both Luka and JJJ drop to 4 and there is a deal to made with MEM then you have to trade everything to get Luka and JJJ.

Here's a link on what I wrote mid-march on Bamba's plusses and minuses. I haven't changed my opinions.
TL;DR: A likely defensive anchor with lots of ifs on offence.

From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

I think it could go either way, whether he'll be a solid starter or an all-star player and it will come down to how impactful he can be on offense. If he's just a big who can stretch the floor with a solid outside shot then I think he'll be a solid starter. If he's able to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket ala Anthony Davis, then he should be an all-star. His college games have shown us that he has little to no post-moves but he has shown flashes of putting the ball on the floor so it really could go either way.
