Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Well, Luka is certainly not being hyped more than Ayton is. After all, isn't Ayton projected to go #1 in most mock drafts, and Luka on the other hand anywhere between #2 and #4 or even lower? And isn't Ayton pretty much a consensus #1 pick for the media and Phoenix Suns fans as well? Isn't he being compared to Embiid and other great NBA players? Isn't the word "generational" being used to describe him by many? Seems quite a lot of hype to me, to be honest.

The only reason people are screaming HYPE when Luka is mentioned is because he comes from Europe and didn't play in NCAA.

I couldn't care less about people nitpicking his game, I quite enjoy hearing different opinions. But it does annoy me when his achievements are being brushed off as not important or nothing special. Think what you want of European ball, but those achievements are very hard to achieve at that age and are a result of his innate talent, complete dedication to basketball since he was a kid, mental strength and throught the roof passion for the game. He had to fight for every single one of those titles, nothing was just handed to him. Unless you believe he was simply born under a lucky star or something.

I know it can be hard to understand the enthusiasm if you don't really follow his development or follow european basketball, so I don't blame people preferring Ayton or other prospects at all. I completely understand, Ayton seems like a great player, but just like Luka he has yet to prove everything in the NBA.

Also, for those interested: Real Madrid won 3rd game of the finals today, so they need another win for Luka to be able to attend the draft night. Luka was also the best scorer(also had the most rebs) of the game.
He had some very average games for his standards these last few weeks, so it's nice to see he played a bit better today.
One game does not a player make.

Lets look at the players from the USA playing for real Madrid for example (Doncics team):

Chasson Randle averaged 20/3/3 at standford couldn't make the NBA took a pay check in Europe.

Anthony Randolph averaged 16/9/1 at LSU couldn't make the NBA took a pay check in Europe.

Jaycee carroll averaged 22/6/2 at Utah state couldn't make the NBA took a pay check in Europe.

Trey Thompkins averaged 16/8/2 at Georgia couldn't make the NBA took a pay check in Europe.

Point is Euro League is filled with sheet. Its got Americas garbage and old flabby men.

Its so overrated that a young kid like doncic can win MVP. Jokes. Jokes....and more jokes.

Professional basketball players that are not good enough to play in Tier one (NBA) go play in Tier 2 competition (Euroleague). What exactly is your point? In their shoes you would what, go work at 9 to 5 job for 50k per year instead of getting 1M+ to play basketball?

From stats above this guys were good NCAA players, then matured, improved, polished their game for years, but are now somehow still worse than some 19 year old.

I guess she felt entitled to a huge tip because he's the presumptive #1 pick. Otherwise, she's going on a twitter tirade over $20.

Oh heck yeah I would go to Europe and get paid. Easy league easy money.

Like I said before you condense the NCAA to only 20 teams so all the top NBA prospects are on each one...Euroleague would look like a joke. Not one Euro team would be able to beat an NCAA team. The fact that Euro League has to use college scrubs on their rosters....Imagine them playing against college talent.

FORGET ABOUT IT. Euro league is so overrated its annoying.

Ayton probably saved her life because she could potentially over dose on a bad batch of Molly. :D

Yea NBA only has top 20 players ( stars ) and others are role player from NCAA or some scrubs to fill the roster. That's why US national team has to bring all star and HOF players to win tournaments.

Heh now i am convinced that you are just trolling us and laughing :D Good job

Suns were the worst team in the NBA last year but we would walk all over real madrid.

Easiest way to put it.

aren't you the one hyping up that french PG?

so if the Euroleague is trash and it doesn't take anything to be good there, then the much worse French league must make Elie Okobo absolute **** the Suns shouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole

Do you realise that you just gave me an argument, that if Ayton avaraged 20/10, he might just not make it in nba and go to Europe? I mean, look at how much points players above averaged in NCAA and they are still in Europe.

I’m totally comfortable with DA. If he’s more of a liability than an asset, then I’m a bad evaluator of talent. I have full faith in Deandre.

None of these guys stats are close to Aytons and all these guys were 4 YEAR PLAYERS.

HUGE difference.

You want their freshman stats?

I will preface this comment with I do not really know - say a guy like Durants defensive prowess his first 7 or 8 years, how he was in college the one year but he has very much improved the last 3 years. His last in OKC and his two with GSW

Maybe Ayton doesn't show well on defense based on his time in Arizona - but I do think he can improve on that. Granted, he is 20 - so maybe he has peaked. But Ayton has a lot of positives right now -- I am looking forward to the pick Thursday

Return to Phoenix Suns
