No matter how you feel about who we pick Thursday, let's support and welcome him into the family with open arms and minds. Give the kid a fair shot and don't bury him before he's had a chance to show what he can do.

Many of us will be disappointed, but don't let your own scouting via YouTube get in the way of supporting our new man for a season.

As Bulls fans, we're fickle (Chicago fans in general) so I feel the need to remind folks about this.

Thursday can't come soon enough.

I still remember whole Lauri debacle last year. I'll admit I was upset when we drafted him since he didn't project to have a high ceiling and I thought there was better options still available. But after doing some research on him and watching his play during Euro Basketball manage to steer me to like the pick more and give me a fair shot. Glad I ate crow on that one.
AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

Unpopular opinion: I think Bagley ends up being the best person out this draft

I don't think that should be considered an unpopular opinion at all.

I think he and many players could end up being the best player in this draft. He has the physical tools. Not only does he have the physical tools though, he knows how to use every inch of it (at least on the offensive end). He also has an energy and effort to him (again on the offensive end) that is above anyone else in this draft, and it's not close.

If he somehow becomes average to solid on the defensive end, while also working on his jumper and range, he could very well be the best prospect in this draft. It's not an unreasonable call at all.

Yes. Bridges has more upside than Porter. Either Bridges.

Mikal does not have more upside than MPJ. Is this what the MPJ hate has come to lol.

Hate? What the hell are you talking about? How is not liking a prospect as a basketball player even remotely equated to hatred? WTF is wrong with some of you? I don't hate the kid. I just HATE the idea of the Bulls wasting a pick on such an obvious bust.

What do you mean, how? Because they are better basketball players, that's how.

I want to remind everyone that this Bulls forum is a place of discussion, debate and a place where you can openly share your thoughts, and even disagree.

The words such as 'cult', 'hating' a player, or any other over-dramatic responses because they simply disagree with your point of view, with absolutely no validity to such accusations will not be tolerated.

There is a way to respond to a post without having to throw around such words which are clearly not warranted. If you feel strongly against someone else's opinion, I suggest you get up off your butt, walk around, stretch your legs, and attempt to respond in a more reasonable manner.

Not everyone is going to agree with each other, and quite frankly I wouldn't frequent these boards as often if that were to be the case. But respect towards your fellow posters goes a long way, just as you would want respect in return - keep that in mind.

Thanks.

Exactly. Thank you.

I think Porter sucks at playing basketball. How the F is that hate? Get over it. He cannot dribble in traffic with his head up, he's stiff, he's rigid, he doesn't look all that athletic to me, never seen him get into an athletic stance even... he was only an OK shooter in HS, not even great. He can't stay in front of a chair. He has a bad back. That's all.

Josh Okogie is not even a lotto pick projection yet he shot the ball better in college for two years than Porter in HS as a senior in less than half the games. They are the same age. Okogie looks like 10x the player in his tape. He ran faster than anyone in the combine. He jumped higher both vertically and no step vertically. He has the same wingspan as Porter JR. and he's 7 inches shorter. He can defend at the college level. He makes exciting dunks. But I'm supposed to buy that Porter is a better prospect for the NBA because somebody told me so? Sorry. I won't

Just to be clear, Givony was being sarcastic, his stock is not falling.

Denzel's going to be good, Portis is going to be even better. Nwaba was GREAT pick up & they may have even been right about Cameron Payne, who showed admirable signs in Fred's system. Lauri is going to be legend.

I trust Paxson & co. when it comes to draft picks. I expect the 22nd pick to be an excellent selection as well.

Seriously? Drafted

2013 Tony Snell
2012 Marquis Teague
2010 Kevin Seraphin and traded him and Hinrich for a trade exemption
2009 James Johnson took 5 years before he was anything for other teams
2007 Aaron Gray 2nd round

They make mistakes and let's not even go into trades for Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden or FA signings that were awful

Everyone makes mistakes but compared to other teams track records, the Bulls have a pretty good decade to decade and a half run of not having a ton of huge misses in the draft. Again, relative to everyone else I’d say.

I agree with you. Despite that, I am a Bulls fan. If we pick a guy I don't like, like PorterJr. I will be his biggest cheerleader. I will really hope I was wrong about him. He'll be a Bull.

But, if he plays like shiiiit, I won't sugarcoat it. I will call it like it is. If he is great, I will be the first to say, "Wow, the kid really is awesome. He has surprised the hell out of me in a good way". I'll gladly eat crow.

Just because I feel confident enough in my own eyes to make statements like I do, means nothing. Shouldn't mean anything to anybody else. Disagree with me. Cool. Don't call me a hater.

The two games Porter played for Mizzou and looked like shiiit and blamed it on of all things, back pain, and his diet at the hotel for that is all we have of him in the last year.....

Other than that, the last full game he played in a post season tourney in HS, was this. He called this one of his best games and the greatest moment of his HS career was winning this tourney. This is the whole game, not highlights, not hyped up garbage. Anybody who can watch this and tell me you still want to waste the 7th pick on him.... well, I don't know what to say..

Reasonable wish list:

MPJ
WCJ
Trae

I'd trade the pick before selecting Mikal
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?

Kind of operating on the assumption Bamba is gone before 7, and we all pretty much would take him. It would be a bad poll, 90% would vote Bamba. No suspense there. These are fairly realistic options, and are all somewhat debatable. That's my take anyway. We can do whatever.

I'm with you on that. I think he'll be an all-star by year 2 or 3. I just have a feeling that him, Ayton and Young are all locks to become all-stars within the first 5 years.
