Perfect, thanks for that.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Well they have all the green room invites showing before it really starts, so it may delay enough for you to get all of the important parts

2013 Tony Snell
2012 Marquis Teague
2010 Kevin Seraphin and traded him and Hinrich for a trade exemption
2009 James Johnson took 5 years before he was anything for other teams
2007 Aaron Gray 2nd round

They make mistakes and let's not even go into trades for Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden or FA signings that were awful

Don't know why Kevin Séraphin is even listed or Aaron Gray who was picked 49th

Kevin Séraphin was never their pick, they made the pick for Washington

Kevin Knox is going to be really good in the NBA some day

'kid has stardom written all over him'' -- dick vitale

he kinda reminds me of tobias harris but a better off the dribble creator & quicker

not sure what's up with the coding tonight but it should show a youtube image

Some tidbits via doordoor on the draft board, whose been great and finding draft info from across the web -

- Okobo is loved by some teams and could go as a high as the Clippers
- Clippers don't love Walker, might prefer Okogie

Same. Though I'm assuming, Ayton, Doncic, Bagley, Bamba, JJJ, Bamba & Young are all off the board.

MPJ who I'm not interested in, could throw the entire draft off he if gets selected in the top 5, where then I'd select any of the players listed above before Carter, but if all of them are off the board, I'll happily go with Carter and be excited about it.

Interesting. Woj said in his podcast with Schmitz that Clipps are apparently high on Walker.
On the other hand, at least to me, it sounded comical how much he was holding back and how carefully he choose his words, not to reveal too much...

That said, I was really hoping Okogie could fall to us. But think there should be good player for us nevertheless.

This? yeah, it's when I first thought he was some kind of hoax. I realized he couldn't dribble in traffic with his head up and his shot was questionable. Saw how rigid and upright he plays. Not impressed. At all.

Yep that's the one. I was skeptical, but then i saw this and firmly wanted nothing to do with him. Agree with you all sentiments. For a guy who's being billed as a special scorer, he doesn't flash any traits of the kind other being able to use his height to rise up over shorter defenders. But then even he bricked a lot of his shots. And this is against D1 caliber players. I just dont get it.
I agree, he looks like a black hole chucker with a mediocre shot and sloppy handles. He won't be able to drive in the NBA with those handles. He looks like Ryan Anderson with a worse shot.

Now I know some of those really tall kids need to get used to their length themselves and learn to control all those long legs arms etc. Especially after a growth spurt it may just take a while for the brain to control this limbs again.
That said this vid did nothing to sway me into taking MPJ. Hopefully he gets taken before us and we do not spend assets to trade up for him.

I couldn't agree more. Too bad it's all we have of Porter other than two games of college from a couple of months ago where he looked undraftable and blamed it on back pain. That was 5 months after his surgery. Wow. just another reason to love the kid.

It was a given he was going to tank his draft stock. He shouldn't have been playing. Totally out of shape, and too soon. He knew that and played anyway. It's a credit to his character to put team ahead of his NBA career. There are other things to critique him with that are fair game.

Not so sure he put his team ahead of his career.

There was criticism of him disrupting the Mizzou offense and with a 36% usage rate and 1 assist total in all his college minutes I can see where that comes from. Not flattering at all.
LaVine comes to mind with that kind of stats and not in a good way.

If we take him I hope he succeeds, I don't see it with him though.

No matter how you feel about who we pick Thursday, let's support and welcome him into the family with open arms and minds. Give the kid a fair shot and don't bury him before he's had a chance to show what he can do.

Many of us will be disappointed, but don't let your own scouting via YouTube get in the way of supporting our new man for a season.

As Bulls fans, we're fickle (Chicago fans in general) so I feel the need to remind folks about this.

Thursday can't come soon enough.

I still remember whole Lauri debacle last year. I'll admit I was upset when we drafted him since he didn't project to have a high ceiling and I thought there was better options still available. But after doing some research on him and watching his play during Euro Basketball manage to steer me to like the pick more and give me a fair shot. Glad I ate crow on that one.

Of all of the many posts that I've read, this one got me to thinking more than any other.

The question that came into my head is, "Is there any player in this years draft that will be as good as Lauri as a rookie?"

If so, then will that player be available for the Bulls to draft at #7.

After the Bulls picked Lauri I went back and looked at all of the highlight videos that I could find, and afterward I thought that they had made a good choice because the kid had skills!!!

Now, when I look at this years draft class, there are only three players that I feel have "Skills!!!" and those are Doncic, Young and (surprisingly) Sexton.

To me, the rest of them look raw, and will need 2-3 years before they have a chance of making an impact. And the best of that group are Ayton, Bamba, Bagley and JJJ.

For me, MPJ is a player (based on his health) that will either be a home run or a strike out. And I also have serious questions in my mind about whether or not he can play together with Lauri. But if the Bulls strike out in this draft, it will set them back another 5 years or more, so are Gar/Pax willing to take that risk? To be honest, I don't think so.

So that brings us to the next two player that I think are on the Bulls radar, Mikal and Knox. IMHO both players have a very high ceiling, and both players should fit together well with Lauri. However, there is a wild card sitting out there with the Bulls #22 pick. Because it appears that Gar/Pax have indeed made a "promise" (decision) about who they are going to draft with that pick (including an alternative) because they are not going to trade it, and I believe those two players are Hutchinson and Bates-Diop (if Hutchinson is already picked).

This brings us back to Mikal vs Knox, because I believe that the player that the Bulls want is Bamba. Otherwise, the skill set that Mikal and Knox bring to the table are very similar to what Hutchinson and Bates-Diop bring. The only really outstanding thing that separates the 4 of them is Knox's age, he is the 2nd youngest player in the draft. That means that Gar/Pax can project ahead for the next 6-10 years that he (together with Lauri) would lock down the Bulls PF & SF positions.

Therefore, IMO unless Gar/Pax are able to trade up (i.e. with Memphis) to get Bamba (or he falls into their laps), then they are either going to draft Knox at #7 or try to work a trade down (i.e. with the 76ers or Hornets) that would get them either Knox or Mikal anyway.

I'd prefer Carter, but again won't be upset if they go with one of the common names being talked about. I will get annoyed if they end up reaching for someone.

To be honest, the Bulls fans generally speaking are very welcoming with rookies and for the most part we root for him and support them once they put on a Bulls jersey.

Hell, Teague was backed by a good portion of the Bulls board to exercise patience, and we got excited when he did show little glimmers of hope.

This can be a pretty harsh city. Mitch Trubitzky was public enemy #1 for something he had no control over (a bunch of picks being traded for him)

Until of course he had a good showing in his 1st pre season game, then all was forgiven
