No particular order right now: Shamet, Walker, Holiday, Thomas.

I would be OK drafting him.
I think people are not high about him because he is 22 years old.
He is three years older than Zhaire Smith for example.
The fact that it's a detriment that he's 22 years old and that people think he should be a member of the AARP just shows how dumb everything about the NBA has gotten.

JMac, we actually agree on something/someone!!!
Khryi Thomas/Ellie Okobo at #16 or bust.
2 time Big East Defensive Player of the Year that can shoot the ball...perfect fit next to Booker.

His age should be seen as a positive. Aren't you tired of the Suns drafting inexperienced college players who are super raw at basketball? Don't we have more than enough projects on this team?
What's wrong with getting a player that's a plug and play guy in Khyri Thomas who can play and contribute now? Zhaire Smith is a prospect I like if he learned to shoot but it's going to take him at least 2 NBA seasons (at the very best) to learn to shoot consistently from NBA range and even then it's a question mark.
We don't need a high ceiling, extremely low floor prospect (like a Chriss for example) at #16. A moderate ceiling, moderate floor player will be just fine imo.

I don't like how he talks.
I don't like how he 'doesn't watch the NBA'. To me, that means he's not doing enough to learn the game.
If he doesn't know what 'raw' means, especially from a basketball standpoint, then I really worry about what his overall IQ will become.
I know it's just a video and his skill may be enough to trump it, but that video is enough for me to not want to take a chance on the guy

It might be more of not knowing who he is. This thread is the first time I've seen his name come up (not that I've been looking hard).

Thomas seems like a no-brainer. Like you said, mature, can shoot, can defend, can handle the ball. and not ball dominant. Good size and length.... I like the French guy too. I’d take both over Holiday and Donte.

I wouldn't have a problem with thomas at 16. He's in a group of like 6 to 8 wings that are gonna go somewhere between 15 and 40. They all seem pretty close as prospects so comes down to eye of the beholder for teams.

My guy is trade. Either for a proven vet or to move into the top 6. Either get an immediate rookie talent or a proven vet to help this team. No more of these "prospects" and playing this waiting game that isn't working.

Did we even work out Khyri Thomas? I know we talked to him at the combine but don't remember if we worked him out.

I'd guess this is the suns preference too. But it takes a willing partner to pull it off and that might not materialize.jsierra1985 wrote:My guy is trade. Oh and I don't think top 6 is realistic to get to. I'd guess if they move up it to 9-13 using 31 to get there.

top 6 is realistic if they go all in and give up future picks. Which is ok to do I THINK. At this point the suns are just so young. Really only two options like I stated in the original post. trade to top 6 and get a premier talent or go proven vet.

Anything is possible but it very rare for a team to move out of the top 6 unless they have a legit star type coming back.jsierra1985 wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:I'd guess this is the suns preference too. If we were earlier in our rebuild, I wouldn't mind going for a younger/high potential guy but our roster already has a good number of guys who have a couple seasons of NBA experience under their belt and I would prefer to get at guy at #16 who's ready to play even if it means he's a lot closer to his ceiling than other young guys.
That being said, I'm still in favor of consolidating assets for a vet

My #16 wish list is -
1. Knox
2. Musa
3. Williams
I hate all the guards in that range.
