Random thoughts...

1. What will Trae Young's hair look like in 5 years... Dude continues to recede... would look crazy bald. Sam Cassell.


2. Still think we need 3 assets from this draft and FA. One better be through absorbing a bad contract.


3. If Pax plays his cards right we should be competing for the playoffs next season.


4. It will be so enjoyable watching these guys playing hard with non tanking lineups.


5. Just don't want Bagley or MPJ. Cool with anyone else honestly.

For number 3 who really cares? We aren't close to being a contender and I thought that was most of the point of getting rid of Jimmy. Heck if we wanted to just be a playoff team we could've went status quo last year. Even with adding whoever during the draft you really think we are better than a 1st rd playoff exit? I don't but I guess making the playoffs would be a step in the right direction. I just think it will make people feel this teams ceiling is higher than it is.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that they will, or has any inside info that they will. They're merely holding on to hope. As you said. Are people not allowed to express what they hope will happen?

Yes they can and it's still a waste. The grizzlies want to dump parsons contract and swap lottery picks which is a danny ainge celtics -nets type of fleecing.

That's an insane overpay for a guy that is falling. If he's falling the best thing to do is just be patient. Maybe he'll fall right in the Bulls' lap at #7. If he's on the board at #5 or #6 then get on the phone.

I believe he could have a confidence issue, and puts too much pressure on himself.

Maybe? But that would seem like a stretch based off an isolated game of foul trouble where he still had the highest defensive rating on his team. If he lacks confidence, then it's pretty interesting that he had as much impact as he did while being the most consistent player on the team.

Forgot he was in that Kansas game though. Same with both UNC games. He just didn't stand out. Always wondered why he never tried to take his game to the next level. Maybe he will in the league, he has potential, more so than Bridges imo and we're going to need a young big which is why I said Carter's the safest pick. I just wonder about his physique sometimes, it's been said that he didn't stand out against top competition since high school.

I have a reasonable athletic comp for Doncic... isn't he about the same size and speed as Noccioni? I know its not a perfect comp, Noc was from Argentina, Doncic is from Europe, etc. But purely from a physical standpoint, was there ever a game when Noc was out there busting his ass where you thought to yourself, this guy just doesn't have what it takes physically to compete? No. Noc gave you all you wanted and more.

So having made that physical (size, speed, strength) comp, if I told you that you could have a 18 YEAR OLD Noccioni that could make plays for others, bring the ball up, shoot, and see the game one step ahead of everyone else... wouldn't that be exciting? I think Doncic is the real deal, and the only concerns people have is that he is not an amazing size and speed ratio guy. But basketball is a skill game, give me the adequate athlete who can pass and shoot and counter whatever you do over the explosive raw guy who has lots of holes in his game.

Stein said the Grizzlies aren't trading #4 without getting a "high lottery" pick back.

The Grizz are said to be taking more calls than they're making, but staying in the high lottery is obviously crucial to Memphis

We can deal with them, but we're giving up #7 IMO.

I was thinking maybe something like, get 14 for taking on Faried, then parlay 14 and taking on Parsons into getting 4.

But I completely believe Memphis would say no unless getting back 7.

Two sentences didn't take that much effort at all. Rather than sharing and discussing opinions you seem to attack others', as many here have pointed out to you. Your concerns for Doncic are valid but the opinion that Doncic may be a really great NBA player is equally valid. Instead of responses speaking in definitive against another's opinion, maybe just engage your own. I personally think that's more conducive to discussion, but I'm just making an observation.

I see this narrative a lot - but I'm not really buying it. Things normally fall into place. If he was as good as Bagley, he'd get the same or more amount of touches than he did. Bagley is a top 3-4 pick. Carter is going to fall between 6-9. That is about right.
