The whole notion that Smart is shooting to much is an inaccurate perception. Last two seasons and the playoffs this year he is at 9.5 FGs per game in about 30 minutes. Much lower rate than All of our rotation guys, with the exception of Baynes.

For the most part he takes open shots in flow of offense. The problem is that he needs to make them more often. That said, sometimes when the game needs a big play he forces the issue. That mentality is a winners mentality for a guy like Tatum but Smart has to do that less often. In addition, his PG play suffers when he makes lazy or flashy plays.

He is a guy who has to play under total control on offense while playing with reckless abandon on defense. It has to be very difficult mentally to do that.

It isn't inaccurate at all, he is marcus smart, not a random player, almost 10 shots per game is absurd for one of the worst shooters in the league. Even a player like tony allen that was rather better and more efficient than smart using his offensive skills never took more than 8-8.5 shots per game, except in 1 playoffs run. The same can be said about roberson. He should be as good as beverly as a shooter at least to shoot 9-10 shots per game, and he isn't.

Now ask yourself why that is exactly. Why are we keeping a sharp shooter like Smart from shooting more? Stop reigning him in Brad

This is how we first heard about our interesting in Theis. Hopefully turns out the same way with a cheap, productive player!

Pick was first on Theis and Larkin both. He's the Woj of overseas signings.

Or a wing like Jacob Evans? This guy could replace Larkin.

Also possibly one guard will be traded or will leave. We don't need 4 PGs on the team. Imo, probably 2 of Smart/Larkin/Rozier are gone.
Good assessment:

We played against him I think in a friendly a few years ago and he looked pretty darn good.

Well, that's saying something.
I'd really like to Re-sign Larkin. But, he may be going for a bigger payday.

Larkin replacement, maybe good enough as back up PG.

Gives insurance if Smart is not back or maybe Rozier is traded.

6-4 good size

Battle tested playing Euroleague, 2nd team.

The Celtics looked into signing him last offseason. I think New Orleans did too. I saw Wanamaker play quite a few times when I wasted a winter watching Darussafaka Dogus to see Ante Zizic. They were teammates.

It was a very guard/perimeter oriented team, coached by David Blatt. Wanamaker is very athletic and explosive with very good speed. He can score in a variety of ways though he didn't strike me as super efficient. He'd certainly have a chance at being a suitable Larkin replacement since he's that sort of player with a little more size, and that might be what they're thinking.

Pitt guy, right?

I remember his name from watching this clip a million times, though mercifully he wasn't the one having his ankles shattered to pieces

I recall the Darussafaka backcourt being Brad Wanamaker and Will Clyburn. Along with wing Scottie Webekin they just drove and shot relentlessly. Clyburn and Wanamaker were both pretty decent. He's a fun player to watch.
