He's Left-handed.

http://www.nba-draft.com/BradWanamaker.html
Strengths

Left-handed… Wanamker does a little bit of everything- he can lead the break, dish the ball off for a score or take the ball to the rim for himself for a lay-in… Overall, he is a very smooth, athletic guard. Wanamaker is a solid ball-handler, with the court-vision to match… As a four-year guard, he has developed a high basketball IQ. He uses his shot-fake to set up the separation for his jump-shot, but also his drives as well. On his penetration, he can create the contact or float in the air and finish with a lay-in… Because of his quickness and relentless competitive spirit, Wanamaker is always looking to take the ball strong to the rim… Quick hands and good lateral quickness, make Wanamaker effective at playing the passing lanes and has the ability to be a solid defender… Overall, Wanamaker has excellent speed and agility to weave in-and-out of the defense and take the ball through the lane or go coast-to-cast.

Weaknesses

Too many poor decisions as a junior, resulting in unforced turnovers, but seems to be playing with poise and confidence in the summer going into his senior year… Needs to improve his perimeter shooting. He is a bit too inconsistent at this point to be a consistent threat… Wanamaker seems to lack full-focus at times on the court. He misses some opportunities, including open jumpers, which he passes up to find open teammates or floats around on the perimeter, watching his teammates create.

This same rumor popped up last offseason, but the Celts signed Shane Larkin instead.

Interesting. No nba experi nice so they could sign him with a small first year salary aka Theis. Good idea for Larkin replacement if we don’t draft one.

What does this even mean?

Does it mean he's going to test his interest in the US and then head back to Europe to decide if he's going to sign in Barcelona or here? Or does it mean he'll test his interest in the NBA and then sign in Europe anyway?

Gotta be the former, right?

Is he trying to maximize his earnings, or just get a chance to play in the NBA?

Can he guard point guards at the NBA level? He looks kind of slow to me.

He's definitely not slow. He's quick. That Darussafaka team didn't play the best defense. Their perimeter guys sprinted the whole game, using a lot of their energy on offense.

I don't recall Wanamaker's D specifically, but it did not stand out. However in Boston his role and focus would be much different. Larkin ended up being ok on defense.

We have been rumored to have interest in him at least three times now, most recently last offseason:

Oh man, I wrote this in the opening of that thread:

The fact that he's even considering Boston does mean there could be a major roster overhaul with at least a couple of guards going out. Otherwise New Orleans would be a much better choice for him.

Got that one right. A couple of guards going out, a couple of forwards, some more players; it ended up being pretty much everybody. :)

One of better guards in Europe. Would be a good choice for the minimum as the 3rd PG.

Hitting on Euro veteran guys ready to contribute now (Larkin, Theis) and signing them to very affordable deals will be crucial the next couple of seasons for the Cs as they try and contend. Even as 10th-12th guys on the roster, they can help when main rotation guys get injured or are resting in the regular season. Often, late 1st round or 2nd round rookies won't give you as much as these guys would if you're trying to win now.

I'd rather keep Larkin, but this tells me one of two things:

a.) Larkin is likely to price himself out of the Celtics' range this summer and will sign elsewhere;
b.) The Celtics might be trading Rozier, whether that's in a deal for Kawhi or somewhere else.

You could also say this is insurance in case Smart signs elsewhere, but Smart plays an entirely different role even though he does run point sometimes.

Wanamaker also played with Ante Zizc last year, when Zizic left Croatia for Turkey.

So Wannamaker and Spellman it looks like to round out the bench. Not bad along with Jabari Bird
