Not surprising. I wonder where? I can't see them getting much for Bledsoe with less time on his contract and his demands for his next contract. Can't see them getting much for Parker either being a RFA unless it's a team over the cap who gives them back a big salary.

Yeah, my first thought was Van Vleet but hadn't thought of Wright..even though I had done a comparison of him and Rozier earlier today (Wright came out fairly similar and better in some respects).

They're looking for a pick high enough to get SGA, i.e. not #16, so probably not a trade there for the Suns.

Yeah, my thought about VanVleet (or even Wright) was with them bringing SGA in to back up Lowry (and maybe take over eventually). I figure at least one of those other guys would be expendable.

Teodosic missed 37 games last season, due to a foot injury, and his health is one of the main concerns behind Clippers' decision, a source told Sportando. The team would love to add a younger player in that position and fear that Teodosic's foot issue won't be fixed easily, sources told Sportando.

What a shame...he is a really talented PG.

Its ok, the Clippers will be fine, they are going to end up with Sexton coming out of the draft.

It sounds like Lowry could be on the way out to bring in SGA, so I'd think they'd want to hold onto VanVleet as insurance. Delon Wright doesn't move the needle much for me as a starting point guard.

So you guys don't want to keep Payton but want Van Fleet, Wright, etc. LOL What is that even going to do for us?

Yeah, I think that we need to be more ambitious.

Those players are solid bench players, but we need an starting PG.

Funny I hadn't seen this but saw Taj's post on the other thread and thought "cue people starting to ignore that these guys are available for a top 10 pick into - should Suns trade __________________ for Lowry?"

Suns don't have a top 10 pick - they have 16 as we all know

If I am using the 16 for a PG signed for two years - its going to be Goran Dragic.

now if the RAptors want cap relief- the Suns could Dudley Chandler and Williams for Lowry - that saves the Raptors a bit of money this year and a lot of money next year

Well they did have the best record in the east, so it doesn't sound like a smart trade for them.

agreed. i don't see phoenix as a fit for Lowry to be honest

Phoenix can also sign Van Fleet to an offer sheet as an RFA as they will have cap space

I am not sure I even do 16 for Lowry with those expirings - maybe as a last resort. Think I do Van Fleet as an RFA

Unless they make some serious cap move s- they may not be able to keep Van Fleet. The Raptors are up against it cap wise with Ibaka, DeRozan, JVal, CJ Miles Lowry and Powell.

If the Suns are creative with the writing of the contract - or any team, Raptors could be SOL on matching. UNLESS they make moves like with DeRozan for SGA to get cap relief

but again, they are targetin SGA - why do they need Van Fleet

Maybe, but unless they are really tearing it down, that seems a bit much to trade their best player after a 59 win season. I also won't be surprised if they have told a reporter they want SGA, that they really are after someone else.

I have Sexton rated just ahead of LiAngelo Ball as a productive draft option. Being a poor man's Bledsoe with bad passing and no outside shot means that he is going to have an extremely hard time as a point guard in the NBA.
Just say no to idiots!!

Not that advanced stats mean anything but in RAPM Van Vleet was ranked 11th and Payton was ranked 526th.

looking at the Capulator - my new toy !

they have Van Fleet as an RFA with the most the Raptors can offer with Bird Rights is basically 2/16 or maybe they can use their MLE. but they are up against the cap and lux tax. they may not be able to afford Van Fleet with Lowry and Wright on the roster

Oh yeah, Raptors fans have said they don't think the Raptors would match too much of a contract. Of course if big salaries or moved that might change.

They can only sign and trade Parker right? Hard to package
