I would prefer Josh and Ayton to Kawhi
give me Booker, Ayton and Josh
Spurs would have to take like Dudley and Chandler to make the math work
I would really HATE this deal
Yeah f*** this s***.
to me this would be classic Sarver and a GM on thehot seat - panicking
keep Jackson, keep Ayton - lets build thisthing -- not dismantle it

Re: Almost off-season discussion! Trades/Free Agency Ep. 9
I mean, it's the NBA, most GMs are on the hot seat in some capacity. Unless our 1st pick thoroughly bombs, I think he is relatively safe. I don't think you can necessarily just look at win totals in order to define his job as a GM. His first season we were way better than expected, and like most Talking Heads love to suggest, he tried to make a playoff push. It didn't work the second year. I feel like year 3 he wanted to continue to pursue winning, but we weren't doing so hot, so we tanked, and started the lauded "process". 3 years in a row of top 5 picks (less than Philly) was kind of accepted as necessary. Hopefully, we'll be in the high 20s or low 30s in wins this year, and we'll be "back on track".
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

This guys sounds like a card shark. Does this have anything to do with the recent court decision about gambling?
Lifshatz had Horford to Boston, Hayward to Boston and both the Brown and Tatum picks. He’s not woj or shams but he has some credibility for sure. Take it fwiw.

This just doesnt make any sense to me.
Kawhi not happy with the top organization in the league. Kawhi and his mystery injury. Kawhi WANTING to play in LA. Thats 3 reasons right there that you DONT TRADE FOR HIM, regardless if he says he will sign an extension!!!
Look, maybe, just maybe if there was a way to trade for him and keep Booker/Ayton...i might.....just might....have a little teeny tiny interest in getting him, but at no point would i give up the #1 for him....at all!

The #1 pick plus Jackson, even if Kawhi re-signs, doesn't leave us with much. I sure don't feel real comfortable about him re-signing given his people unless McD has spoken to Kawhi's "people" and they want to be here.
I'd push for Murray at least. That doesn't sound like much more, but he led point guards in DRPM by a long shot....book-ending Book with Murray and Kawhi would be about as good as you could do for defensive purposes.
http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/1
I still don't believe we'd give up that much. There are no assurances he would re-sign.
I don't really buy any of this.
We would need their pick back too...what is it...18? Maybe then we could use 16 and 18 to move up for a big....Robert Williams or something.
Booker + Kawhi < Booker + Jackson and #1. it doesnt matter if Kawhi is the best player ever you still have to play 5 on 5 and most of the time 5 best players will win a game.
Just say no to idiots!!

No, the reason they would move Phx to favorites is to dissuade more betting on Phx. You don't even make even money any more. Now you have to bet $140 to make $100. Seems like a foolish bet to make right now.
It would be a shady thing to do and I don't know this site so not making any accusations. Just throwing it out there.

Well now a book lowered the amount you can bet so..

I'm skeptical but I wouldn't put anything past a desperate gm so who knows.

That's where I am. I would give up anything but the #1 and Booker for him...unless it was like multiple more number 1s and pick swaps. But I would still only do it if there was some sort of indication he would re-sign and I don't know why he would.

Josh and the Heat pick would be included is my guess
It feels like it would have to be more than that...we would have to throw in next year's first for sure if not this year's #1. And probably 16.
I thought the most likely was a trade to the east like to Boston for Brown, Rozier and the Kings pick or something.
Rozier Brown Mook and the Kings pick
seemed like a no brainer to me
i personally am skeptical of wanting Kawhi just because how much is SArver/Ryan willing to OVERpay to stop the Timeline and start winning
i have a feeling RC/Popovich will school Ryan - for that reason - I am leery of this trade. Pop is like Red the Cigar and the Logo - they DONT lose these trades
FWIW, reminder that Barbosa & Dragic came from the Spurs for what eventually became Jamison Brewer/Nazr Mohammed & Malik Hairston/Dejuan Blair respectively.
am I the only one who thinks Kawhi still ends up SA, that Popovich will massage Kawhi the same way he did with Aldridge when he requested a trade last offseason? the discussion needs to simmer down until Popovich and Leonard actually have a face to face

Any chance they started with Ayton/Jackson? I have a feeling that this rumor was the asking price. That doesn't mean it will be the final deal.

Long term I agree...I've always wanted to build for the long term. Though I think next year Booker+ Kawhi would probably be better. Kawhi is a top 5 player and the best 2 way player. JJ hasn't been good and as much as I like the top prospect, it's an unknown.
Make no mistake, I don't want to make a trade, particularly not with the #1 pick and not even with JJ if there are not assurances which we won't get.

I don't buy it. No way we give up the #1 + Jackson for potentially 1 year of service. Maybe a #1 not the #1

If this trade does go down, we sure will have wasted a hell of a lot of time talking about who to draft.

I wouldn't get worked up about a trade happening yet. It's only 1 offshore site's odds that've been adjusted, at least from what I've been able to track down.
