Maybe upgrade our PF position if free agency allows us, however I'm willing to see how Bender & or Chriss develop alongside Ayton.

I think the Suns could probably get Dragic for the 16 Dudley, Williams and Ulis - Heat can waive the latter two for outright cash savings. Dudley bought out. Riley would save close to 10m in cash if Dudley is bought out and would still have the 16th pick. Heck give them 59 too!

Suns at 31 could draft Brunson or BPA. Gambo said the Suns were high on Brunson

Dragic would give a solid PG for two years - help the younger players get better by playing with a very good player PG. The team needs to start winning games.

Suns in this scenario would still have about $11m in cap space to sign maybe a McDermott for his shooting; maybe a McCaw type for defense in the backcourt.

I don't want to see Goran Dragic in a Suns uniform ever again.

What I don't understand is that the board seems to agree on the fact that our biggest needs at the 1 are defense, shooting and passing. Goran's never been a good defender, has only occasionally been a decent shooter, and is only a solid passer. His primary talent is the ability to create his own shot and finish.

Personally, I could care less about his history with the team. I'd take him back if he were the right player for this team. He clearly isn't. So why does his name keep coming up?

What point guard does those things you want and is available?

Rozier probably not available

Lillard would cost a lot

A rookie at 16 is not doing all those things as he if could - wouldn’t be there most likely

Smart can’t shoot

Beverly is a good defender, average shot

Shai, Carter, DiVincenzo, Khyri and some people think Holiday and Brunson can all play D and shoot, but you're right in that they wouldn't be as good as Dragic their first seasons. Shaquille Harrison is a better defender. Knight is a better shooter.

Bradley, Tyreke and VanVleet are better shooters and defenders. To the extent they are available, Delon Wright, Kyle Lowry, Tyus Jones, DJ Augustin, TJ McConnell and Garrett Temple would all give you superior defense and shooting.

There are so many options that are superior to Dragic that I don't think he merits consideration.

Suns go 1-2
Kings get: Devin Booker, Jared Dudley

Suns get: Bogdan Bogdanovic, No. 2

Han: Sacramento craves a star. But rather than send the No. 2 overall pick off for a Kawhi rental, why not aim for a player still on his rookie contract and eligible to extend for five more seasons?

In Booker, the Kings would add a 20-point scorer on a similar timeline with De'Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield, building a perimeter-oriented shooting lineup in the Bay Area mold owner Vivek Ranadive so desperately covets.

For Phoenix, Deandre Ayton or Luka Doncic. Luka Doncic or DeAndre Ayton. Why choose? If the most valuable asset to the Suns is the No. 1 overall pick and there is any doubt over who should be selected first, just get both prospects. Oh, and pick up a sneaky good player in Bogdanovic in the process.

Because he is a really good basketball player.

He probably is not an specialist, but who cares if Harrison is great at defense or Daniels is great at 3p shooting....they can not play more than 10-15 minutes per game on competent teams.

Dragic was an All Star last season for a reason. If he is available we need to make a call IMO.

I'd rather trade Booker, Jackson and #1 for Ian Mahinmi than watch Dragic in a Suns uniform ever again.

For a team ready to take the next step, it's not a good idea.
If we were just starting our rebuild, I could absolutely agree. But we are past the point of bringing in new toys for better toys.

Yeah I pretty much agree. If Booker wasn't so ingrained as the franchise centerpiece I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Now, however, losing Booker means losing a gigantic chunk of our identity.

I am a big supporter of Doncic but I wouldnt touch this trade. First of all this is a wing centered league right now in the NBA. If you dont have a good wing as your main option you are hurting yourself. Doncic value is that he is a creator for others not for his scoring by himself. Bogdan cant hold a candle to Booker. So I think the value of Booker is much higher then Doncic.

I am open to many options. But a rookie PG to me -- and you mention all very good prospects -are just that, prospects. I think the Suns need to advance a little bit. I like Dragic as he is a two year bridge to help with the development of the players today and if you draft a PG - he can be worked into the rotation

I like the idea of Tyreke and Van Fleet actually and both are free agents, though Fred VF is restricted

OMW. The disrespect of TJ by some Suns fans is amazing. Just because he is not well respected by fans around the league does not mean that Suns fans, who watch him perform consistently day in and out, should disrespect him as well.

Agreed. It seems to stem from a form of self-hatred or misguided disappointment. We sucked last year because we were young, not because our players aren't talented. People are looking at 20 PPG at 50% shooting with few turnovers and plenty of O-rebounds as if you can find that kind of production anywhere. On a winning team, Warren's production would put him in the conversation for a bench spot on the all-star team most years. Or, you know, worth almost a year of Pat Bev coming off multiple surgeries.

If one of Jackson or Warren can get to 35% from 3, I want both of them starting next season.

I can't believe I logged into here and found people actually wanting to trade Booker for pick 2. Booker's stats look like a better version of Harden at the same age. He is FAR better than Kobe was at the same age on the offensive end. I don't understand wanting to trade him for ANY unproven commodity draft pick, particularly when we have the 1st pick.
