Compare Mikal at 18 to Knox at 18. Huge advantage for Knox. Not saying he's the pick, or that I want him, but you wanting Mikal over Knox shows you would take a guy who at 21 is a far better player than at 18. That is one reason we would take Knox. He's pretty good now and they might project he is better than Mikal at the same age of 21.

Some fyi...

1)Troy Brown Jr. Is the same age as Knox.. and was a leader of Oregon. Played 4 position for them and was mainly the guy bring the ball up and setting up the offense for others...and also play very good defense. No one is reaching for TB at #9..

2)Miles is only one yr older, and better than him in every category and skill.

3)Troy Williams is only 23 yrs old... I highly doubt Knox can put up TWill type numbers he had with us. So between having THJ, TWill and maybe another vet SF... Knox might not get much playing time.

So basically you all want him because he is 6'9 212lbs with a 7'0 wing and 19 (August 11)....... and ball out on one or two workouts....

LOL....SMH

Your expecting an alpha @9? youll be highly disappointed every player you look at then unless we get porter and he pans as that #1 player he was projected to be because every single guy excluding Troy williams im going to pretend he's not a name that was just mentioned. :) but every player you just listed is role player material 3rd options maybe 2nd if there lucky. if they become a secondary option on offense thats a straight up steal pick.

Porter - MAYBE allstar, high risk,, high reward
Young- MAYBE allstar, high risk high reward
sexton - Maybe boarder line allstar

if any of Miles, Mikal, Wendell, knox, troy brown, lonnie, carter is your teams alpha

Image

There all more than likely 3rd options on a good team and possible 2nd options if they hit there ceiling and even if they hit there ceiling probably still a 3rd option at best

The alpha section is in the top 3 Ayton, Bagley, Doncic assuming they live up to the hype.

That's a horrible post. You never know where an Alpha leader will be drafted. Draymon, Mitchell, Oakley, Starks, Mason, Ginobli, and tons of others have that mentality and it has very little to do with draft position. To me, Knox looks soft as tissue. He'll make Tim Thomas look like Barkley.

no its reality and your right you dont know, but i do know history proves your chances of getting that alpha increases alot higher in the draft when you have a much better pick than 9

Just like you never know where the alpha leader will be drafted, YOU never know what knox will end up being

but at least your straight forward with your knox hate i like youImage

But apparently Knox had more impressive workouts in the 3 on 3 than Mikal had against air and chairs in his solo :o

I dunno. I like Bridges because he sounds like a guy this team needs. Plays defense, can hit 3's, good teammate etc. I don't know much about Knox other than he is all of a sudden this top sleeper prospect in the draft. I may be wrong but I want a guy that can help now. I've been waiting for too long.

I was just being sarcastic, kinda just going with the hyperbole theme of the last couple days. Anyways, it all really depends on what we plan on getting out of this pick. Knox is kind of a risky pick because he could be anything from Wilson Chandler to Rudy Gay or maybe even better than that. Nobody really knows because he's so young. The potential is there, the tools are there, so with him it's all about how he puts it all together over the years. Mikal doesn't really have that high of a ceiling imo, even at his age and the experience he has he still looks a bit raw offensively. He's got the spot up jumper down but everything else about his game is very shaky. How much will he really improve in the next 3-4 years, when he turns 25-26? I'm not sure but I don't think it will be all that much from where he is now. I feel like he is very close to his ceiling and will be who he is throughout his career. Very good role player on a good team but he will need a good supporting cast around him to really play his role correctly. Asking him to be more than what he is could hurt him and the team. If we had better pieces in place and Mikal was the missing one, I'd say sure go for it, but we really don't. A team like Philly has those pieces in place and he would thrive there a lot better than he would on the Knicks imo. So I'm not against taking a risk on a young kid like Knox and seeing what he evolves into in the next 3 years, he could morph into a much better player than Mikal is currently.

Philly is so positioned to walk away with either a big time prospect (in a hit or miss way) or the ability to take just the right, good, player who fits in with the rest of their guys.

I'm still on the Milak Bridges bandwagon. Mikel's gonna be good. He can hit 3s, play defense. Mileks Bridges man.

Look at Mikhals numbers as a frosh or even soph and compare them to Knox. No contest. You draft for who they will become not who they are as an 18 year old freshman. Knox is already fairly close to Mikhal but 3.5 years younger .

Yeah, I don't get peoples logic. Outside of late bloomers, you got to go with the higher upside guy in most cases.
Luckily we don't make the decisions. I will trust management here. They are new and if they blow this one...

Fiz gonna make sure he gets in shape by training camp. I love that he's brought that Miami training to the Knicks. Hopefully the days of these guys slacking off and being out of shape are over.
