they want to take a swing in THIS FA period? interesting.

I feel like this is a FA period that will run like hitting the discount rack. Not top tier talent but a lot of solid players going for at or below market value.

Noel, Grant, Hezonja, Kyle Anderson, Rudy Gay, etc

But apparently Knox had more impressive workouts in the 3 on 3 than Mikal had against air and chairs in his solo :o

I dunno. I like Bridges because he sounds like a guy this team needs. Plays defense, can hit 3's, good teammate etc. I don't know much about Knox other than he is all of a sudden this top sleeper prospect in the draft. I may be wrong but I want a guy that can help now. I've been waiting for too long.

I was just being sarcastic, kinda just going with the hyperbole theme of the last couple days. Anyways, it all really depends on what we plan on getting out of this pick. Knox is kind of a risky pick because he could be anything from Wilson Chandler to Rudy Gay or maybe even better than that. Nobody really knows because he's so young. The potential is there, the tools are there, so with him it's all about how he puts it all together over the years. Mikal doesn't really have that high of a ceiling imo, even at his age and the experience he has he still looks a bit raw offensively. He's got the spot up jumper down but everything else about his game is very shaky. How much will he really improve in the next 3-4 years, when he turns 25-26? I'm not sure but I don't think it will be all that much from where he is now. I feel like he is very close to his ceiling and will be who he is throughout his career. Very good role player on a good team but he will need a good supporting cast around him to really play his role correctly. Asking him to be more than what he is could hurt him and the team. If we had better pieces in place and Mikal was the missing one, I'd say sure go for it, but we really don't. A team like Philly has those pieces in place and he would thrive there a lot better than he would on the Knicks imo. So I'm not against taking a risk on a young kid like Knox and seeing what he evolves into in the next 3 years, he could morph into a much better player than Mikal is currently.

3 to 4 years? Of dark days and KP gone by then.... SMH

Which means someone else gets pushed down to 9, it's all good.

Although Porter is projected to go in the top-7 in most mock drafts, there is a chance he slips due to the concerns surrounding his injury history (he a microdiscectomy of his L3-L4 spinal discs in November). Based on talent and skill set, Porter has a chance to become the best player in this draft class if he can stay healthy.

Just like you probably didnt wanna wait 3-4 years for KP's potential.. yet here we are..seeing it instantly. Sometimes it comes a lot quicker than you expect

Exactly. He could just get put in a system that he feels comfortable in and things click for him pretty quickly.

Sources indicate the Knicks believe Young would be a significant upgrade with a high upside and would snatch him if he fell

2nd report today about us taking Young if he's there at 9. On the other hand, Givony (on the Lowe podcast) said we wouldn't

We are on franchise that can afford to take a player who might take a few years to really show his stuff. Where are we going when our two best assets are 22 and 19 respectively, with one of them currently injured. If anything, a Knox type pick makes more sense than a Mikal pick, but either one would be fine with me.

Everyone trading picks to dump contracts

I bet ATL or BKN is all over this.

Last year, these teams used their cap space to gain late picks in this draft.

What did we do again?
