The Hawks have made Dennis Schroder "available for trades," according to Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated.

Last month, Schroder made some controversial comments at a press conference. "I have to look individually what’s the best for me," Schroder said. "I will be 25 in September... I cannot be second to last in the Eastern Conference. That’s why I will have the talks with the Atlanta Hawks." The Hawks have two picks in the top-20 in the 2018 draft, so they may explore adding a young point guard to the roster

Based on reports my latest Knicks Big Board:

1. Ayrton Chance at #9 -0%
2. Doncic Chance at #9 -0% (chance in top 4 -50%/ possible trade up option?)
3. Begley Chance at #9 -0%
4. JJJ Chance at #9 -0%
5. Porter Chance at #9 – 20% (could be off the Knicks board entirely with injury drama stuff)
6. Young Chance at #9 -25% (interest Hawks #3, Magic #6, Bulls #7,Cleveland #8)
7. Wendell Carter Chance at #9- 40%
8. Bamba Chance at #9-30% (down this low due to limited offensive upside, Knicks may not want him)
9. Knox Chance at 9- 70% (interest Magic #6, Bulls #7)
10. Sexton Chance at 9- 70% (Magic #6)
11. Lonnie Walker Chance at #9-85%

(Some of which contradict one another).

- SI's latest mock said that the Knicks seem to be zeroed in on drafting a point guard at 9. If Young is gone, they think Sexton is their guy

- Berman said that the Knicks "believe Young would be a significant upgrade with a high upside and would snatch him if he fell.”

(both of those contradict what Givony said yesterday)

- More buzz is building for Trae Young at 3 to Atlanta

- Givony said that Cleveland is enamored with SGA and seems to be their target

- Steve Kyler reaffirmed what Woj said yesterday about Sexton being Orlando's guy as of now

- He also said that Bamba is the most likely to fall of the top 5 guys and while there are some teams interested in the top 7, he doesn't seem to be the top option for any of them

- MPJ said on the radio that he has a near guarantee from a team picking high

hard to believe that they'd be "zeroed in" on a PG. None of these PG's has really distinguished themselves as a definite top pick

Not if you wait until 2019.

Fact is, we should not be looking to draft guys because of what's on the roster, we're not ready to compete yet. We need talent. If it's Knox, Trae, Mikal, Sexton, Carter, MPJr, etc.

I'm lower on MPJr because of his injury risk, and Carter because of our Frontcourt depth. I'm not sure if he'd get adequate early development. Trae is different because he has ELITE potential and would DEFINITELY get PT.

I'm not saying don't draft Trae. I'm saying if we draft Trae, Burke needs to go.

And I seriously doubt Kawhi hits FA, but that's a different issue.

who gives a chit? His offensive game is miles (pun intended) ahead of Knox's and defensively even though his measurables are worse than Knox's his motor is much higher than Knox's is. Knox has a way to go reach Bridges's skill level and ability on BOTH ends of the floor. My question is at what point does youthfulness and measurables get offset by actual production and translatable skill? I just don't get it. To me, Miles is so much more advanced than Knox in so many ways that Knox's youth and measurables don't really matter to me. I think scouts have a hard time separating perceived potential due to age and length from what these guys actually bring to the floor. Like, to me, Miles's median outcome is way higher than Knox's that I don't understand the point in chasing Knox's perceived slight ceiling upgrade

Burke doesn't have Trae's range or passing ability.

They're both offensive PGs, but approach things differently.

--Mags

So Trae is a better version of Burke. Keep him.

Having them both ensures that there is a major defensive liability on the floor at all times.

It's kind of like having 2 Kanters.

Lol, true, but at least we can move the asset.
Though I would rather go with the 2 way player, barring Trae being offensively generationa in managements eyes.
Bu then I move Burke.

People dont realize that Miles was a better player his freshman year than Knox was this year. Showed more on both ends of the court, and is an athletic freak with a high motor and strong work ethic. What has Knox shown that makes people think he's gonna take a huge leap?

Since the hiring of Fizdale, I'm more ok with Knox if it is the pick. Fix would be a good motivator I think.

I'm also still on board with Mikal as well.

NBA isnt about what you’ve done, it’s about what you can do. Otherwise Adam Morrison and Freddette would be the GOATS.

I'm good with each of the following:

Mikal
Miles
Knox
Carter

If we pick a guard, then I'm gonna just have to trust our FO until we get to see for ourselves. I'm ok with taking one if we trade Mudiay tho.
