President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Any questions?
I don't know how long it would take us to be good, but, hey, it would be fun! &, I tell you what -- our G League team might have one Hxll of a debut season!
Doncic/Carter/Bamba + a bunch of cap space in year 3 ( a year before you have to give those guys maxes) would be....unreal.
I know the "blow it up" thing is unrealistic, but it really shouldn't be with these kinds of rookies available. Nevermind being bad enough the next two years to possibly add more lottery picks. That's a recipe to have better talent than the Sixers core real fast.
Dallas would probably be the only path to getting two top 5 picks. Otto and whatever to Memphis. I could see Cuban contemplating an offer of Beal for #5, but not in a 1:1. We'd probably have to take Barnes and or add Oubre.

Yeah, JR with 2 years left on his deal is certainly a sticking point. I really do not want him on my team.

They'd have to be nuts to make this trade. On top of which, anyway, we couldn't begin to do it. Does anybody actually look at our salary structure before suggesting stuff like this?
#1 parsons is terrible ! horrible and his contract is awful.
#2 the salary would be the exact same this year give or take a little. A lot more next year 10-15 mill more but thats a one year bullet to bite for a first round pick, debatable on being worth it or not i guess. with a lot of cap relief coming that next year.
Also i was just going off of something i read about The griz being open to moving that pick to dump parsons contract. Thats the concept I was going off of. and i even said in a post about this that they would probably be able to find a better deal or a team with enough cap room to just absorb the contract and take nothing back. that is the deal I would be comfortable offering them, I don't really care what they would take or not. I just would give up any more than that while taking on a broken and washed up player like parsons, and adding money, while for just one year, it still hurts a lot.
Its hilarious... Parsons has a terrible contract but Mahinmi is "still useful"??? Homerism at its best.

Our defense would go from bad to horrific. No thanks to Love or J.R. But if the pick was a little higher, where we could draft Jaren Jackson Jr. or maybe Bamba, I'd consider it.

I would hope Beal has more value than this. I wouldn't consider it.

^ What about subbing in Wall and combining it with the Kemba Walker rumor? Haven't run it through the checker but...
Wizards receive: Love and Walker
Cavs receive: Wall
Hornets receive: #8
Obviously gotta add more pieces to make it work, but that's the general idea.

with the talent available in this draft, it'd actually be criminal not to try to get #14 to go along with #15

I like it - but I would think the Wall homers would object vociferously. I would especially like it if you could somehow trade either Gortat, Mahimni, Smith or Morris for a wing without giving up draft picks - possibly Charlotte or Cleveland tosses in a 2nd to allow us to move one or more of them. But that would really be a stretch.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVI
Nat -- more seriously for a moment. My main worry about Gary Clark is that he really may not be big enough or long enough to play the 4.
He's a skilled, hard-working basketball player with a terrific feel for the game. Like Jae Crowder, who also was an undersized 4 in college, & who a lot of people counted out precisely because they feared he couldn't play that spot in the NBA, Clark's best chance at success may well come from using his basketball smarts to play at the 3.

LeBron would love Wall, but he's not going to go back to Cleveland with only one other all-star on the roster again. He knows he needs at MINIMUM Love and another star to get past a healthy Celtics team next year, and honestly he probably needs TWO + Love to comfortably go up against them.

Why do you hate small ball so much, PIF?
Clark just doesn’t handle the ball or have any wing-like skills offensively.
6’10 wingspan isn’t awful, not great, but doable for a PF that rebounds like a mad man and gets blocks and steals anyways.

It seems fair until you get to this part: we can’t take 30 million in salary and only send out 18 mill.
So it blows up when we have to send a bad contract somewhere else unless one of these teams can take Gortat.
You’re also trading our franchise player for a guy on a one year contract.

Remember, Wall's still on his old contract, so the Wiz would have to throw in another big contract. If it's Beal or Otto, I don't think any Washington fan would be happy. If it's Mahinmi, no fan of the team getting him would be happy. And Gortat wouldn't be good for the Wiz, because they'd need his contract to expire if they were going to keep both Love and Walker. The money just doesn't work.

Yeah, JR with 2 years left on his deal is certainly a sticking point. I really do not want him on my team.
JR's last year is partially guaranteed. He's only owed $3,870,000 if cut before 6/29/19.
It's still a no for me, though.

I would love to have that 8 pick.

We need to do this deal love and Smith and an 8 pick? Hell yeah, make it happen, Ernie.
