Young's defense is offensive......

Why wouldn't they play Frank and Timmy together?

they seem to see him as a 2 from what's being reported. do you really think they'll be the starters this year ?

Unless they inexplicably start Mudiay again, then yes.

I also have a hard time to say which players of the current roster start next season. especially 1-3

Latest Bleacher Report topic about worst/best fits
MIkal worst fit - Knicks
Worst fit: Knicks, Clippers

"He can't go where too much is asked of him," the Western Conference GM said. "He's not Paul George. He's not a rookie who is going to get you 28. That's not who he is. But he can plug in positionally."

Miles/Knox best fits with Knicks.

Bridges could provide a physical and defensive-minded presence next to Porzingis and a toughness that GM Scott Perry has admired since working under Joe Dumars with the Pistons.

est fit: Knicks

What they extracted from Michael Beasley last season and coach David Fizdale's ability to connect with young talent are considered a combination that could unlock Knox's potential. Executives say he's a better scorer than the collegiate analytics give him credit for, something take-that-for-data Fizdale should appreciate. Knox's athleticism makes him an ideal switching defender on everything but point guards and the biggest of centers, and he has the potential to be a 20-point scorer as well. But his inconsistency would be disastrous for anyone needing him to score every night. "Everybody always wants more out of him because of his talent," the Western Conference assistant GM said.

Mikal isn't lockdown. Nobody really is. His biggest trait on that end is that he understands rotations and attacks passing lanes well. He's more of a Covington than a Kawhi for example. He's just above average on ball.

nice of you to hand pick elite players, I can list an endless number of busts picked in the top 15 at age 21+, not a valid argument

not to mention none of those players are even similar to mikal except maybe jimmy butler (he's way bigger and more athletic)

most picks disappoint no matter what their age. if you're not at the very top of the draft it's always very risky.

just looking at there old college clips they look like they have clear upside advantage even for there age. Mikal looks a bit limited outside of being athletic and defending/shooting

They dont really give good explanations

There reason for worst fit would apply to anyone the Knicks draft at #9.

There reason for best fit mostly applies to Mikal too since he may end up being the better defender then Miles/Knox.

It was reported that they saw him as having a niche as a backup guard. Hopefully that means that Frank's offseason work will be rewarded and he'll start as the lead guard.

Even Jimmy was a better rounded player except he didnt have a big stand out skill on offense. Mikals shooting actually stands out as an area he could possibly be elite in at the next level.

I see him being used like a otto porter or middleton, thats still a good pick at 9.
