And yet the Lakers and now the Nets seems as if they cant get him out of town fast enough. Why do you think that is?

Didn't work out. His immaturity has bit him in the ass in both stops. I'll give you that. But he has a lot of respect for Book and Book doesn't have any of those concerns. I think he will be a good influence.

Mostly, like just about any deal involving a player like that, it depends on what you have to send out. If it's just #16 you don't sacrafice much. The player we get at #31 could be better than who is selected at #16 in this draft more than most. Lots of parody from about 16 on.

Beverly makes sense if at this point - Ryan realizes trades for a more veteran PG will not happen.

So at 16 you draft a PG and Beverly is here for a year to help the PG transition.

I like Beverley, but I’m not trading TJ for him plus a good second rounder.

No to Beverly...especially at a cheap price. Grow and develop the youth. Draft a defensive minded player who can guard the point.

I just want to be VERY VERY Clear

the cost would be like the 59th pick

it would be because Ryan exhausted EVERY other possibility to upgrade PG> So that's just n ot Dragic or Kemba but guys like Van Fleet, Exum, etc. I think as a veteran presence, on a one year for his 5.56m - he has value. But Beverly is pretty far down the list for me

If we want Beverley, just draft Jevon Carter instead.

My guess - Patrick Beverly would help the Suns more in 2018/19 than Carter. enough with the losing

I think Beverly as a last resort option - there are many other guards I would like to roll out next to Knight and Booker. But I really don't want to see that guard be a rookie.

If Beverley is cheap enough, i'm totally cool with him.
TJ+16 isnt cheap tho. Anyone entertaining this kind of trade is just out of his mind.

Maybe, but he'd be more expensive and he's coming off a bad injury. I like Beverley and agree and think he'd be a good leader but not exactly sure why the Clips would trade or not guarantee him at that cheap dollar amount if they think he's healthy and can contribute, especially since it sounds like Teodosic is out.

Sometimes people talk about trading for a guy without thinking of it from the perspective of the other team. Seems like that here. If he is available, whether just not guaranteed or by trade, I might be hesitant, but I guess we'd get a physical.

First of all just signing or trading a second rounder as a last resort. There are a bunch of guards would rather have

Now maybe the PG is Knight but who will the third guard be. The Suns need to be better than Mike James and Payton at PG. Beverly would be better than some options. A way for this team to improve is to have a guard that would help facilitate for guys like Booker, Jackson, WArren, Chriss, Bender, presumably Ayton. I get Ricky Rubio is not coming here but I would hope its not just a rookie who needs time to learn. That is all I am saying about Beverly

No. $30M is too much to be paying a 32 year old Lowery.

Not to mention he is 6 feet tall, and according to soooooo many people on this board, any PG under 6"2 like Trae Young, is too small to play in the league and will never be an all-star.

Maybe I'm crazy, but here is what I'm seeing:

1) LeBron enrolled his kids in LA school, and rumor is he wants to play in LA and told Chris Paul that he doesn't want to play for Houston.
2) Lakers do not have the assets to be a super team unless they get 3 big time players.
3) Paul George is rumored to want to stay in OKC. Chris Paul wants to stay with the Rockets. Spurs would need to trade Kawhi, and Lakers offer Ball/Deng is not enticing.
4) When LeBron decided to sign with Cavs - he heard the Suns interview and was impressed and we were one of the finalists (of course we know now that Cavs were always the choice). We have more talent now (more promising team now).
5) James Jones is good friends with Lebron.
6) Lebron would be the primary facilitator on the team (we currently don't have one). Lebron would need shooters and people who could open things up. We have the 3 point champion.
7) Suns are loaded with assets (draft picks, young tallent, and expiring contracts)- soon we will have Ayton, and could make the best offer SA could get for Kawhi (SA has always loved JJ).
8) Phoenix is a short flight to LA on a private jet.
9) Suns could have a team of Booker, Kawhi, Ayton - add LeBron and that's a Super team that could give LeBron the best chance for multiple championships - could compete with GS.
10) I know James Jones @ McD must see what I'm seeing.

I know I dream big.

Not saying we should get Lowry but he's a proven player despite his stature. Can't really compare him to Trae

I just threw the size aspect in there to show how stupid it is to say that Trae will fail because of his size/height when the NBA is littered with star players like Lowery/CP3/IT and others that have excelled while also being smaller.

If I were planning to add Lebron James, I might try to trade down from #16 to shed some salary and maybe upgrade Dudley and draft Aaron Holiday. Aminu + #24 for Dudley + #16 gets us out of about $3 million and gives us a player we can use.

I have Trae 3rd on my big board. Don't understand the complaints. His passing and shooting are absurd and the only guys I think will be better are Doncic and Ayton. He may not be crazy quick, but he can get his shot off, can get space via PnR, and is so dangerous as a shooter that he can be very impactful off the ball as well. I don't get the questions about him from an offensive perspective. Defensively he has legit concerns, but offensively I think he'll be a stud very quickly.
