However, I am becoming obsessed with the idea of Miles Bridges slipping to a place we can get him. Anyone one know if he even worked out for the suns? I'm probably setting myself up for heart break. But he is too talented to be calling this far. Knox is a fine player but taking him over bridges because of the age difference related potential is how GMs get fired.

Yeah, I hadn't thought of it but he was mocked at 14. If Miles somehow slipped to 16 I think that's a no brainer. He can play 4 next to Ayton for sure. And he is a player.

Yeah I'd certainly deal the #31 to move up for Miles, if that's all it would take.

If you believe Carter is a solid, two way high floor guy and think Ayton's floor are offensive only centers like Kanter, Monroe etc. or even Okafor, and given that all these guys are more likely to underwhelm than be great, then yeah I get the reasoning.

I have no idea how someone can watch DeAndre Ayton and think of Jahlil Okafor or Greg Monroe. That's like watching Steph Curry and thinking of JJ Redick.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Yup. Wiggins might be the worst contract in basketball in a couple years. Yet nobody discusses it on ESPN's horrendous basketball show.

Eh Rachel's ripped Wiggins pretty often on there as well.

Be gentle fellow Suns fans, but I like Jerome Robinson at 16 if the Suns keep it.

no he hasn't Archie was given 3 seasons (4 preseasons) with McD. And technically he hasn't given up on him, considering he last played for the Suns D-league team lol.

How about Ennis and Kendall Marshall?

Like me some Okobo at 16 if they go PG there, if they go for a wing I like (hope) one of the Bridges' or SGA somehow slips. I don't mind Troy Brown or Keita Bates-Diop but 16 is too early for both obviously.

Wouldn't be anti Okogie at 31 either to be honest. I'm just not sold on Zhaire Smith. I remember thinking Peyton Siva and Guillermo Diaz (waaaay back in the day) were these can't miss athletes but they just couldn't shoot. Smith feels like that sort of guy. And everyone knows my love for KJ McDaniels - another uber athlete who just couldn't shoot...

I don't remember Peyton Siva being heralded a can't miss athlete. Either way neither of those guys from the measurements appear to be on the same planet athletically. McDaniels was a great athlete. Just not sure the others ever were.

I’m ashamed to admit this but I wanted Marshall too. That’s called not doing your homework.

I’m starting to like Troy Brown more and more at 16. He’s got the size of a wing and the skill set of a point guard. Extremely good handle and advanced passer, with an NBA ready frame. Plays smart defense at multiple positions. His shooting was pretty woeful but it’s not a broken shot and his ft% was solid at 74%. For those who like Tyreke, Troy Brown might be someone to look at. If we insist on taking another pac12 guy I really hope it’s Brown rather than Holiday.
Brown, Okobo, Shamet, or Walker at 16 please.

My point was that was Pre-McD.

But it is funny seeing names thrown about of guys that we supposedly gave up on too early....then they went elsewhere and failed and were given up on....then went to a 3rd team and were given up on. Like seriously, what guys did we give up on too early that just BLOSSOMED elsewhere?

Yeah, I wouldn't put Carter higher than Ayton but I like Carter a lot. He is 5 or 6 for me. I think he has a very high floor. In some ways higher than Ayton. Ceiling isn't nearly as high but he feels safe. Not a guy I'd consider at 1 obviously and some pick apart Ayton too much and drop him too low but I think Carter could end up a top 3 or 4 player from this draft in the long run. He doesn't have a huge weakness other than maybe quickness.

Not fair to judge a 19 year old being paid $6M to $10M per year? This whole rookie scale is bullcrap. What other business besides athletics pays for potential. It's bull to see players like Tucker and Booker get paid chump change while multi-millionaire top draft picks bust all the time. I'd be fine paying them that much if their contracts were based on production. The overall team talent in the NBA is watered down because undeserving players get time based on "potential".

Playing time. Both Bamba and JJJr aren't trying to backup Marc Gasol for the next 3-4 years.

Return to Phoenix Suns
