But that deal can get easily be matched around the league. Again, Pop hates Sarver. Boston would be willing to shell out Brown and the Kings pick and try and convince Kawhi to stay in bean town with a run at a ring. Philly would be willing to shell out a similar package with a simila4 aim. Lakers could flip ball for assets and combine them with Ingram.

All are similar packages that a team is willing to sacrafice for a player like Kawhi and at that point Pop sends him East. But the #1 pick? Thays different. That would force Pop to deal with the Suns.

it would be hilarious if he ends up getting traded there, underperforms or gets injured again, and then even the Lakers don't want to give him the max next season.

The article linked to in the wiretap http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23846966/gregg-popovich-meets-kawhi-leonard-california

states the Spurs are unlikely to trade him to LA...they will get a lot less in return if they trade him elsewhere, but it will be really awesome if they do, because it will kind of screw the Lakers, since they will want to use their cap space now. But theoretically I guess they could probably sign a couple guys and hang onto some of their young guys and do a S&T next summer if need be.

It does get tiring. It's bad enough that the Warriors became a superteam...it was fun organically but when an MVP joined a 73 win team it became a joke and then you had stars consolidating in Houston and OKC and then Boston just always cleans up on trades whether it be with Minny, Brooklyn or Philly to build a superteam. The Lakers on top of that will kind of suck. But I guess they won't get any new young talent for awhile and hopefully we start stockpiling like Boston and Philly do and break out in a few years when some of these teams are starting to fade.

I wonder how much value there is for the Spurs in preventing the formation of another super team in the West? People keep acting like the only value in their move will be the assets they receive in the transaction. Their are less tangible considerations at play.

Honestly, if they can get a lot more from the Lakers, particularly young players, they should take the best deal. But it will be interesting if they don't. A team like Boston could put a very good offer up without losing much (Brown, Rozier, Kings pick) or even Kyrie if they like Rozier long term....and might make a good case to Kawhi to stay...probably better than what OKC is trying to do with George.

Sucks I hate all the teams involved.

Uncle Davis might be worse than LaVar Ball.
He's just destroying Kawhi's reputation lol

Everyone loved him.

I agree. But the good thing is that some combo of Ingram/Kuzma/Ball is a package that can be easily matched by Boston and Philly. He may well go East.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Lebron isn't going there alone and if they spend on Lebron and George then there isn't going to be much space left for Leonard next year unless he leaves a ridiculous amount of money on the table.

So much.....'planning.' I "plan" on writing a little more here after I plan to buy a new laptop cause this one is too old.

I don't believe a lot of what I read on twitter. Indeed, Trump coined the term #fakenews but NBA offseason chatter is somethin else. It's the echo chamber of he said she said. And a lot of tweets about people "planning" to do something.

The only tweet worthy of truth about Kwahi Leonard is the one from Leonard himself. All we can do is wait n see what happens during free agency. Doubt anything happ during the draft.

Take Clippers pick and Harris

Jerry West will convince him to stay... And it's LA after all...

Then Suns should trade Pick 16, 31 and Warren for Tobias Harris from Spurs after the Spurs Clippers deal.

I like Harris a lot. That's a lot for him. He is a pre agent as well.

In all due respect, I like a lot of your posts but this is just insane.

Why in the world would you give up anything of value for Leonard. He is a joke with very questionable health issues.

I would not trade Alex Len, if he was still under contract for Kawai. Good luck in LA.

I would prefer Lebron alone while keeping Jackson, Booker and Ayton. If that is not good enough for Lebron he can kiss my axx.

Durant and Kawhi teach you not to believe in something like a humble, likeable superstar.

I hope the Spurs trade Leonard to Cleveland for Love & #8 and plus some future Cleveland 1st round picks. They should be really good once Lebron does leave. The best thing about it is that it would leave the Lakers with nothing this off season because it appears that PG is going to stay in OKC and CP3 in Houston. That would be fantastic.

Quite frankly if you add a healthy Leonard to the Cavs's they could be back in the finals again if Lebron stays.

Spurs would ask for Harris is any Kawhi deal I think.
