Your ideal realistic starting lineup next season

Post#1 » by PKABOOICU » Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:33 am

Ideally, I would push for a Lonzo/Kuzma/25th/Deng for Kawhi deal, keep Ingram, and forget about PG13.

I dont want to have anything to do with IT3 or Lopez, but Id absolutely entertain resigning Randle for the right deal.

For a cheapest defensive center available, Id look to sign Richuan Holmes, Alex Len, or Nerlens Noel, or trade for someone.
Demarcus Cousins, Clint Capela, and DeAndre Jordan are simply unaffordable and bring them off the bench, while starting Randle at Center.

Point Guard is tricky, but Id look to sign a 3 and D guard. Im a fan of George Hill, but obviously he didnt work out well at all in Cleveland, so I doubt he'd work well with Kawhi and Lebron. Avery Bradley, Cory Joseph, Patrick McCaw, Elfrid Payton, Rajon Rondo, and Marcus Smart, are some of the free agents Id take a loot at. If Rondo were available, Id sign him right away. Playoff Rondo aint nothing to mess with.

I would fill out the roster with a SF/PF ring chaser. Rudy Gay comes to mind and he'd be relatively cheap at this point. I also like Will Barton, and the idea of retaining Channing Frye or signing Mo Speights. Pretty much any cheap stretch 4 big man, but Frye is already a Laker and probably the easiest filler to retain.

Rondo/Caruso
Ingram/Hart
Kawhi/Gay
Lebron/Frye
Randle/Holmes

Realistically, this is a team I think the Lakers can Afford and actually Dethrone the Warriors with. It has a great balance of Star power and Youth. I feel like this is a versatile team, capable of defensive switches and capable of running a fast break. The biggest knock I could see is that the team lacks shooters, but still very capable of hitting the 3.

Luka Doncic - Paul George - Kawhi Leonard - Lebron James - Nerlens Noel
Bench: Ingram, Kuzma, Z Smith, M Robinson (if he falls into early 2nd we should buy), K Bates-Diop (same with Mitch Rob), L Shamet

With this Leonard news i'm pushing Randle + Smith as a deal to be honest.

I don’t see a Spurs trade happening & there seems to be momentum in OKC, which concerns me but I would still go with this lineup:

PG: Lonzo & Hart
SG: PG & Donte (Nova #25)
SF: Ingram & Kuzz
PF: LBJ & Kuzz
C: Lopez & Noel (same agent LBJ)

We will hang onto Zubac & Bryant ($1.6 each) & grab a couple other vets (wings) plus our 46th pick to round out the roster...

I don't wanna gamble our young core away on an iffy shot at a title with 34yo LeBron. Also I think PG13 and specially Leonard are atrociously overrated and are nowhere near worth the kind of money they are probably going to get this offseason. Leonard is not in the same conversation as LeBron/Westbrook/Durant/Davis/Harden, not by a long shot. For the life of me I can't understand why everybody has such a hard-on for this guy.

PG: Ball / Andre Ingram
SG: Ingram / Hart
SF: Randle / Pope
PF: Kuzuma / Travis
C: Bryant / Zubac

Plenty of minutes for Ball/Ingram/Kuz/Randle while keeping our cap space available just in case.
