From the last three posts, I’ll take it as a compliment. It’s funny, I think the poster thought it was a put down in reality it was a compliment. Just goes to show you that sometimes you may not like someone just because and you don’t even know it until you give them a a perceived bad comp that’s actually good.

Re: DeAndre Ayton
The game that is a microcosm of Ayton’s defensive ability — and the conversation surrounding it — is the one that ended his season. Many people point to his defensive performance against Buffalo, when fourth-seeded Arizona was routed from the NCAA Tournament by a No. 13 seed, as being a significant problem. The player Ayton was largely responsible for guarding that night, Jeremy Harris, scored 23 points on 20 shots. And Harris, a 6-7 wing who has more in common with NBA 3s than 4s, had three pretty nasty baseline blow-bys of Ayton, made a contested step-back long jumper over him and beat him out on the break to the basket once.
But only 10 of Harris’ 23 points could be attributed to Ayton missteps. And I’d argue that Ayton showed many more positive defensive plays than negative ones against Buffalo, whose guards sliced and diced the Wildcats’ perimeter players all night.
So where does that leave us on Ayton’s defense? It’s something of a mixed bag and not certain to translate at a high level, but I believe the positives outweigh the negatives. Instinctually, there are some concerns in help. Statistically, his numbers don’t look great. But Arizona was just such a mess defensively this year, it muddies the picture and makes it a tougher evaluation.
No one would argue that Ayton is perfect, and it’s typically not a good idea to bet against statistics and history. But the factors at Arizona, the strong flashes on tape, the elite athletic and physical upside, and the consistent effort throughout Pac-12 play make me want to bet against the established norms of the last 15 years.
It’ll take focus and improvement, but I’d bet on him reaching that level. The numbers might not reflect that, but the tape and those who played against him do.
It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it

I consider it a put down because while he'll put up numbers, I don't think he'll be a top option on a winning team. I also think his lack of defense IQ and instincts will make him close to unplayable in the playoffs.

I see a lot of positive posts from Knicks' fans on him versus other fans...... There is one Celtics fan, I think Homerclease or something along those lines.

My bad. Well I guess I should have said the Knicks' fans who post on the GB. I think the analytic guys love Doncic more than Ayton. I love Doncic as well, but just not more than Ayton. I'd take him number two though, however, I wouldn't argue against Bagley.

DeAndre Ayton – Dwight Howard with higher intellect brain
My number one guy in the draft. Used mostly as a lob catcher in college. He has elite combination of strength and athleticism for a guy his size. Standing reach is 9’3 which is around average for an Nba center. The biggest strength is his potential down the road as a superstar. He is in my opinion the best prospect since Lebron James. Has passing skills and ball handling that could develop once he plays more. Some of his weaknesses are that he has been known to play soft. Part of this is that he is somewhat raw as a prospect and would physically hurt college players if he used 100 % of his strength like Dwight Howard did in his prime. He also has question marks for his passion for the game. He settles for contested jumpshots and doesn’t always get down in proper defensive stance on the perimeter. Overall, I think whatever team drafts him will see a big difference in the win column and possibly make the playoffs.

Sounding a warning. This kid Ayton is likely dumber than a box of rocks and definitely doesn't have his head screwed on right.
Incapable of following simple instructions:
Historically low defensive IQ:

Countless other gifs of his completely invisible on defense in college.
Thinking about his next contract instead of NBA success and achievements:

We know you hate him. Good for you being a Knicks fan, because you don't have to worry about him being "dumb" and busting on the Knicks. You should be posting how happy you are that you aren't drafting, makes me wonder if you are jealous.
I love him and I am a Suns' fan, so we both should be happy. I know I am

Never will I EVER fault a draft prospect for worrying about getting his money. That's exactly what you do as a professional in any field.

Pff, no. Too soon bro. Lets see him in the NBA. One defensive foul block doesnt remove a full season of being ass on D.

Looks like all of my criticisms have been validated. Not a winner. Plays with no passion. All the talent, none of the mentality.

Check out page 31. I said he wasn't Embiid level athlete and the Arizona / Suns homers went ballistic.
I knew this kid had no heart from the jump.
