You mean, the thing that happens pretty much every year?

I don't think they'll be an major movement for the Suns this offseason, and I don't really think there should be. We were the worst team in the league last year. There isn't a realistic combination of moves that is going to make this team competitive next year.

Sometimes the best move is not to play. Take high upside guys with our picks, try and bring back Len and Payton on bargain deals, and wait until next offseason. We'll have another high draft pick, the Bucks pick, and the unprotected Heat pick to play with. Tyson and Jared will be off the books and Knight will be an expiring.

We still don't really know what we have in Jackson and (likely) Ayton. Pulling the trigger now and building around those guys could be a mistake. I also wouldn't be surprised to see TJ take it to another level this year. The dude is a baller and it just seems like he's on the cusp of something big.

This fanbase and this front office really need to take a long term view of this rebuild. If we mess it up we're going to be stuck in the basement forever.

I totally agree, just thought it would be ironic after all the talk about McD being agressive this offseason. I'd rather stay pat then make desperate moves in free agency that ruin our cap going forward ( like we did with Hedo and co)

What is it that you think you have seen in TJ that give you any idea that he is going to do anything different this year? The only reason his scoring has increased is that he is one of the few reliable scorer on this team. However he still is only a fair rebounder and defender and a horrible passer. He has no outside shot. He is still basically playing the same game that he did in college with his mid-range game.

Because TJ is a baller. The only team we beat without him playing last year was Memphis.

Look, I realize the lack of an outside shot is obviously holding him back. Still, I think TJ has one of the most valuable and unquantifiable skills in the NBA in that you can just give him the ball with no play called and he gets buckets. I don't think he's going to become Lebron or anything, but a guy like that who goes out and gets it every night is going to be a successful player in the NBA. You just don't trade guys like that.

I'd be more worried about his lack of an outside shot if he didn't shoot 50% from the floor. I don't think he's responsible for our lack of spacing on offense. I'm really excited to see what he can do in what should be a more structured offense under Igor.

I agree too, except for the sign Payton part...and probably don't need Len either unless really cheap.

Gordon for 16 post 7/1 - suns take on Gordon -- no cash back to the Rockettess. granted, that is only pick 16

i don't see how the rockets pull this off

Doncic at 1. Sign and trade for Capela with 16.

Doubtful but I would be ok with it.

mid lottery. not 16.
maybe they want a big man like carter since they know it'll be hard to keep Paul and Capella and sign James.

The thing that makes this post by Kyler just seem wrong is the Rockets literally have zero assets other than Tucker and Gordon. Ariza is a FA; Harden is not going anywhere; Paul is a FA; Capela is an RFA. Future first round picks are worth nothing. The Rockets cannot take on salary., This one seems like it has a 0.000001% chance of happening.

I have never seen Steve Kyler get one of his own scoops right.

I believe that Ryan Mcd Suns gm will be very aggressive with trades and free agency he can’t sit their and do nothing in those areas and expect to keep his job .

I would love that trade.

Eric Gordon is a fantastic player to put next to a PG or SG, I would be OK starting him next to Booker.

But I doubt that the Rockets trade him. He is so valuable for them as third guard playing 30 mpg.

unless the rockets are wanting both an asset and cap relief to go get James. as the Cavs probably want draft picks and not to take back Ryan Anderson. Suns could conceivably take back both Tucker and Gordon for nominal return to Houston. Using capulator - I think the Rockets would need to take back like Troy Daniels and Devon House - post 7/1. Just Gordon - suns could ship House, Williams and Ulis and be fine the night of the draft

I can't imagine anything the Rockets would be willing to trade that would be worth a pick in the mid-lotto.

Future picks are late, CP# and Capella are free agents. Tucker is valuable, but not that valuable. Neither is Gordon. Maybe the Cavs could keep LeBron if they can trade for Gordon? Just grasping here.

I doubt they are going to be huge players in free agency.
