If they do that they won't have any money to resign Porzingis, or it would SEVERLY hamper any efforts to build a team around him. The Knicks aren't a threat here IMO.

That's a bargain to move up a few spots to get an elite player. You want to get a top player you have to be willing to part w/ pieces.

These are not proven players so they aren't elite.

The Knicks have basically zero cap room, and several bad contracts of their own (e.g., Noah), so it's going to be a real pull for them to work out a deal that would allow them to take on Parsons' contract.
