Im sorry man lol.. i was worried phew....
ok so lets talk more about BAMBA then...
All good. When Wingo quoted me the first time, I had to make sure I typed it correctly. It happens.
Quick summary of Bamba
- Elite rim protector
- Elite finisher in paint
- Great rebounder
- Potential as a shooter (came a long way since his senior year of HS where he was 10-15 and in, beautiful form, showed ability this year at UT)
- Smart defensive player who uses his length well...on the flip side, I think he might overrely on his length vs actually understanding the defensive concepts. Capella came in and was able to learn, and Rudy got worlds better as well, but it's something to take note of.
- Skinny legs...which worries me a bit.
- Switch potential (and can definitely be used as an ICE defender while affecting even mid-range jumpers even as he falls back), plays passing lanes and affects shots just by using his length / being active with hands.
- SMART player on court, off court, and unbelievably well spoken.
- You can tell he's still learning and growing into his body, but he's not awkward in his movements for someone his size nor does he have a low BBIQ.
I did not like him very much before the season, but this year at UT turned me into a big fan.
Im one of the few who like KP at the 4 provided he starts running out to the perimeter. In your opinion will they compliment each other ? and you say hes an elite finisher would you say hes solid in the post then ?
Yeah, I'm actually ok with KP at the 4 as well. People forget that perimeter defense starts with the guards, so him having to cover for guys like Melo, Rose, etc hasn't really been beneficial to him.
I do think they compliment each other, but I think it could get awkward at times in space, as Cole says in the tweet someone posted. I'm still taking Bamba over JJJr, though...but I know he's very high on him, whereas I see a better defensive Ibaka type.
I mean finisher in the paint, not posting up. I don't trust throwing the ball down to him expecting him to go to work - that's not his game. PnR and offensive glass though, he'll eat it up and finish.
