If MPJ is selected before # 9 I know for a fact that the Suns Knicks have a hand shake deal. Suns will trade #16 + Bender + 2019 Milwaukee pick (If not conveyed Knicks will have rights to swap with 2019 Suns #1 protected) for #9. Confident enough to back it up with gold.

1 (Ayton) and 2021 Miami pick are off limits holding too much value.

It could be total bull, but worth reading the thread. Apparently he provided the same and deleted it after the person said they believe him now.

Interesting.

It looks a realistic trade.

I would prefer to watch Bender on the Suns next season, but I LOVE Trae Young and I think he is gonna be gold in the NBA.

We have already given up on Bender? I'm not sure how to feel right now

Well that pick will almost certainly be protected so it would be our first next year and Bender and 16 for Young. There is a good chance that will be a top 5 pick.

Man when it's finally written down...that seems like a lot to give up for a guy who has a fairly high chance to be a bust. I wonder how likely it is that MPJ goes before #9 though...

I'm going to trust McD on this trade. Bender has been disappointing. We need to dump Chriss/Knight ASAP.

Realistically MPJ could drop beyond #10. Right?

I trade next year's draft pick for someone like Luka because he will be better than anyone in next year's draft. If we believe Young to be better than anyone next year, i guess it's fine, but still that is quite a bit to give up.

Post says it's a pick swap though, so we'd still have the Knicks pick if we end up below them (which I'd think we won't with KP out)

What if - Doncic, Ayton, Jackson, Bagley, Carter, Porter Bamba, and Young are all gone - Mikal Bridges best player available. Would you still do this trade?

It does say rights to swap in 2019, not give up outright, so it'd only matter if we had a worse record and the Milwaukee pick didn't convey. I'd like to think we won't be bottom 5 next year, especially with McDs lip service about bringing in veterans and improving the team.

OK, yeah, I must have misread that or forgotten quickly. That's not bad considering the Knicks likely wouldn't be very good. We should be better than bottom 5 but the odds are also a lot better to move up starting next year, so chances wouldn't be as bad if you are sitting at 8 or 9 to jump.

I’m still unclear of the pick details but he’d be an awesome fit here.

Well not if you believe this guy on Reddit, that the Knicks will trade their pick UNLESS Porter is there at 9, in which case, they draft him. So in no scenario under this guy's facts would Porter slide past 9. Either he goes earlier or the Knicks take him.

No. That is not about giving up on Bender, that is about trying to nab Trae. #16, Milwaukee and Bender is a good deal. We still keep Warren. I wish it was Chriss instead, but it is still a smoking deal, especially if Trae is on the board.

Yeah if we're swapping #6 and #8 then I would be completely fine. Only thing I don't like is that it hamstrings us at the deadline because we wouldn't be able to trade our pick or the Milwaukee pick for a player at the deadline since we gave their rights up.

You guys are reading it wrong lol. It's swapping picks with New York if the Milwaukee pick doesn't convey, not giving them our pick outright.

Trae Young and Deandre Ayton...that would be amazing.

I do not want to get very excited about it because it is just a rumor but....I CAN'T!!!!!!!!!

It really doesn't seem like a very good deal for the Knicks though. I mean we will probably be better than them next year so then it just comes down to Bender and the 16. I like Bender but you'd think they'd be much higher on someone like Mikal than they would be on Bender + whoever they think might be there at 16.

All Bucks have to do is make the playoffs...shouldn't be hard upgrading from Kidd to Budenholzer as long as Giannis stays healthy. If they can move Bledsoe and/or Parker they might get better too.

I wouldn't count on it as very certain but not much of the rest of the east looks like they are getting better outside of Philly and Boston.

Return to Phoenix Suns
