Great odds with LiAngelo. I'm sure one dumb team will take him with a super late pick lol

It's a good value bet lol. LA does have a #47 pick

Yeah, he'll probably go like the second to last pick in the draft or something.

At #16 and with already a plethora of young players including #1 pick this year, I'd be more inclined to take a player for fit rather than BPA. I think it's a bit of a waste to take him. It'll be like the whole drafting 2 PF's thing all over again.

Dont put that evil on us...

but it'd be a very McD-like type of move.

Yeah I agree, but man I'd probably rather have Williams instead of Chriss. We'd still have the problem of having too many bigs though, when we took these 2 in the draft we didn't expect to be drafting a top C this season. Ah well.

What would be your guess...

If the #1 pick were given to Ainge, Morey, Bob Meyers or Buford/Popovich, who would each GM select in tomorrow's draft? (No dealing)

Ainge - Ayton

Morey -Bamba

Bob Myers - Doncic

Pop/Buford - Ayton

That's very tough, because they all have built their teams and have elite wings and a lot of playmakers. I think Pop would probably lean Ayton given his history with bigs. I think most teams would value a Doncic player a lot, maybe moreso than Ayton, but given many of their teams, they already have elite teams and are set at the wing and don't have a great C. I think Morey would love Doncic but they already have two playmakers and better defenders/shooters..but then they have Capela. I think Ainge would want Ayton actually, considering his team.

The Warriors are a tough one....Doncic could pick apart other teams with his passing to the other Warriors...I don't know that they'd care to have an Ayton.

It's probably kind of a toss up between a lot of those teams. It's so hard to know without more information on the guys though.

Ainge : Doncic - perfect Steven's guy. Smart player on both ends of the court. Can play in a system, can play off ball
Morey : Doncic - Could be a D'Antoni favourite and a 3rd guy behind Harden/CP3 to handle the ball. Shoots the 3 ball and move the ball. Small ball 4 potential.
Meyers : Ayton - already have elite wing talent and adding a shooting big who can dominate down low would make them even more dangerous.
Pops/Buford : Doncic - High IQ, highly skilled, strong fundamentals, average athleticism and coachable. Perfect Pop's guy.

LOL, I kind of picked the exact opposite of lilfishi, but it's tough to know.

My rationale is that outside of perhaps Houston, the other teams don't really favor outright athleticism or a big to win. Sure Spurs have a history with bigs but let's not forget Duncan/Robinson came into the league seasoned, highly skilled, with strong fundamentals, with a high IQ and of course were also elite athletically. These teams give minutes to players with high IQ and can make the right plays within the system on both ends of the court.

I gave Ayton to the Warriors because I think adding Doncic would be a bit redundant with so many ball handlers and shooters on the team already.

Pop and Spurs need their next Duncan... They need an elite big to surround with good ball movement.... Ayton

Warriors... Have 4 players that need shots and usage... So I think they pick Ayton or JJJ...

Boston has a wing problem... When healthy.
What they lack is inside dominance that would fit with the wings... Ayton or Bamba

Knicks
Clippers

To name a few
