Bamba’s reportedly developed a 3-point shot
He’s also been working on his 3-point shot to rave reviews (watch) with renowned NBA trainer Drew Hanlen, who has worked to develop the games of Jayson Tatum and Joel Embiid among many others.

His measurables and upside have put Bamba squarely in top-5 range, and the Grizzlies hold the No. 4 pick in Thursday’s draft. Yahoo Sports’ latest mock draft has the Atlanta Hawks selecting him at No. 3.

From @KCJHoop, Mo Bamba posted a 3.04 3/4 court sprint

Context: Would have T-1 at Combine, faster than Zhaire Smith & Lonnie Walker

Also faster than:

Russell Westbrook: 3.08 :o
D-Wade: 3.08
Harden: 3.13
John Wall: 3.14

Terry Rozier: 3.15
Kemba: 3.16
Oladipo: 3.25
Gobert: 3.57

This is why I question people who say he is not athletic enough to guard the perimeter. The kid is a gazelle.

Perimeter defense is much more about lateral quickness and IQ than straight line speed, as evidenced by Westbrook and Harden are both terrible defenders

They also own the No. 37 pick, which they acquired from Oklahoma City in the Carmelo Anthony trade.

Depending on what they do at nine, the Knicks could go for a big man (Western Kentucky’s Mitchell Robinson or Michigan’s Moritz Wagner) or a guard (Duke point guard Trevon Duval or Creighton shooter Khyri Thomas) in the second round.

Those 2 are terrible because they dont give a crap about playing any defense. Bamba's length should allow him an extra step to contest perimeter shots. That all you can really ask for from a big.
