Agree 100%

Hes a fine player, but I don't see all star level player like JJJ/Bagley/Ayton/Bamba could all get to.

Just seems like he's a really solid player. Which is fine, but IMO after the season we had you need to shoot for a better than solid player. Even if he has flaws in his game like a Bamba or back issues like MPJ.

Check out his numbers vs. his main comp Horford on Tankathon. His offensive and rebounding numbers are noticeably better as a freshman vs. Horford in his junior year. Horford was a slightly better passer (both are good) and a better defender, which comes naturally as you add experience in college. To me the probability of Carter being better than Horford is higher than the probability of Bamba actually developing an above average offensive game.
Carter doesn’t have the agility/fluidity of a Bagley, but his length and strength more than make up for it. Great fit next to Lauri IMO.
JJJ has many of the same attributes with better rim protection but not as good instincts/floor game. You take him over Carter due to the tremendous upside. I probably take Bagley for upside too, but at this point I take Carter over Bamba I think

Dime Drop just put Bamba to #7 in his mock draft. Carter 5th. Feasible. Also Miles Bridges 14th (Nugs pick in mind)

I'd be ecstatic if we get both Bamba and Bridges.

Yeah, that's pretty much a dream outcome.

No way are the Bulls going to take on a $50 Millon contract & lose the #7 pick to get a #4 pick!!!!!

Take the pick.

Agreed. Best I’d do for #4 is #7, #22, and Valentine. For #3, I’d add Portis

It was only because he played with Bagley that he was even considered in the top 10.

If he had been on a team where defenses could focus on him he'd be low in the lottery picks.

I see the horford comparisons in terms of his demeanor and willingness to do all the dirty work. However, horford has good lateral quickness and is a very good defender on the switch. He along with smart, Tatum and brown made that Celtics team so good defensively. I just don’t see carter having the same ability to defend guards in the pick and roll like horford does. I do think he will be a journeyman big that lasts 10 years and averages 13-14 pts, 7-8 rbs, 3-4 assists and 2 blocks; very respectable numbers and certainly a decent pick at 7. I still think we should swing for the fences and take JJJ, MPJ, Trae if one of them should fall to 7. Bamba ain’t falling to 7 and I’ll happily eat crow if he does.

I'd rather not take on any more bad contracts of non-serviceable players.
I get it, and can see the "logic" in some deals, but I'd rather not even go down that road.

P.S. Is the irony of Mitch Kupchak trading for Mozgov the funniest thing this year? :-)

Mitch had a bad experience with Howard when they were both with the Lakers, so Howard had to go one way or another. The irony is he was the one who originally signed Mozgov to that ridiculous contract in the Summer of 2016. He must have a thing for Mozgov.

Howard is a putz. Damn near every team he plays on ends up hating him.

Should be a fun day. For lottery teams this is our NBA Finals.

I have a hard time seeing the Bulls sending back #7 for #4 and Parsons. I am surprised not to hear that Portis might be included versus the pick, because that would make more sense.

Well, draft day is here and I still am unable to coherently rank my top 7 hahaha. I'm sure many of you are the same.

Memphis is trying to trade down, not out of the lotto. They want to get a top notch young talent to pair with Conley and Gasol so they can return to the playoffs next year.
Memphis is not trying to auction the pick off as a way to just unload Parsons contract.

Just to throw a little damper on Bamba, remember when WCS was shooting 3s in a workout before the draft?

Well he made 3 of 12 in his rookie season and shot and missed 2 each season after that.

I know Bamba is not WCS but him raining 3s in an empty gym isn't saying anything. All those big guys with all that flaws scare me.

Yeah, now that I really think of it, I don't see them taking on that big of a contract to move up 3 spots. Guys, we're talking about the team that sold their pick because they wanted to MAKE money last year. There's just no way that Reinsdorf is going to OK taking on a contract that large unless it was maybe for the # 1 pick

Think (hope) there is a slight chance Bamba and JJJ will both be available at 7. It’s all contingent on Sacramento taking Bagley,

Phoenix- Ayton
Sacramento- Bagley
Atlanta- trades pick to Dallas - Doncic
Memphis - can’t find a trading partner that will take Parsons salary - WCJ or Porter (Bamba and JJJ refused to visit, medical info)
Atlanta- Young
Orlando- Sexton

Is this to much of a pipe dream?
