I completely understand the POV of having the #9 plus acquiring the #4 but realistically that’s not going to happen.

Can it?

If we’re going based off of trade value for the assets we currently have, KP would be scorching hot, Frank would be a simmering second and Lee/Hardaway would be a mellow third.

KP most likely is off the board, especially because a trade involving him wouldn’t just get us the #4 pick it would land us with any of the picks 1-5. Porzingis honestly is better than all of the prospects this year except maybe (keyword maybe) Doncic.

Frank is a curious case, he’s easy to sell because of his height, his incredible defensive ability, his age & his two way potential. If the Knicks really fall in love with Doncic or Bamba then they’re trading Frank. Maybe I just don’t see the big deal in giving up the 9th pick to move up but the same way I feel that KP is better than most of the draft, I feel that way with Bamba & Doncic being better than Frank.

Like Capn mentioned, JJJ would be a PERFECT fit next to KP & someone I hope management is keeping their eye on just in case we move up. If we have the chance to get either JJJ, Bamba or Doncic and all we have to give up is Frank & #9, you get that deal done immediately.

If the Grizzlies want us to take on Parsons they gotta give us another pick.

Time for Knicks to grow some balls and learn how to negotiate to get more assets. That’s how the Celtics were able to get over on Brooklyn.

I'm ok giving the pick for Luka only. I'm not high on Bamba espically when the game is more small ball. Hoping luka team is working some magic behind the scenes

Its gonna be KP and Lee for 4th and Parsons.

nah I don't think so. 4 + parsons

for

#9 + lee + lance + x

or

#9 + timmy + burke + x

is the framework. depends on what the grizz are looking for. either get off as much salary as possible or get as good as possible with the trade. the question mark obv is the asset the knicks have to add.
if only we lossed 1 more game...the 8th pick is much more enticing for the Grizz then the 9th pick is.

That win against the Cavs has got to be one of the dumbest things ever.

I agree 100%.

I don’t want to move up for anyone other than Luka but talent is talent and Mo even with his faults is talented.

But yea Luka would be the one to trade up for.

Thank god. Doncic won't be there at 4th either way.

No surprise there. They'll still get a good player at 9. We have our 2019 which should be a high lottery next year as well.

It's only a tease if you believe most of these articles surrounding the draft, especially when it regards moving up in the draft.

It’s rumors all we did was talk to Bamba. Nothing wrong with talking don’t mean we trading up. To be honest we need to just keep the 9th pick and pick the right person. We don’t have enough young players as is we can not afford to trade up. Draft Mikal or Knox and hope they a big piece going forward.

I can’t believe most Knicks fans are going to get the person they want for the second straight year. Sounds kinda crazy.

The Knicks are 5th in most cap space right now (and that's including Kanter, not including KOQ's cap hold which is 3 million more), with only the Hawks, Kings, and Suns ahead of us for lotto teams, and those 3 all have a higher pick than Memphis

If you include how much they could potentially open up this summer, the Bulls, Magic, and Mavs are there, but of those 3 only the Bulls could fully absorb Parsons

We could probably make an offer on par with any of those teams, depending on who the Grizzlies would want to trade down for. If it's someone like Mikal who probably has the highest floor out of anyone, there's a good chance he's available at 9, so it really at that point depends on how much they like Lee and Burke

What I'm saying is, I don't know and nobody will for another 12 ish hours

Knicks can offer better players than the Suns or Nuggets or Bulls? No way.

Edge Suns, Bulls and Nuggets on young talent

I'd assume the Suns aren't looked to add the 4th pick to the 1st

Edge Bulls in space

I'd say edge Bulls overall

I don't think the Nuggets are really that interested, the report of them wanting to trade 14 to get rid of Faried means to me they'd rather have cap space than picks

The Suns and Bulls might have better young talent, but I don't think they're that much better of trade partners for Memphis than us

Suns are probably out of the picture, as the Grizzlies are looking to trade back, but not all the way out of the lotto like the Suns 2nd 1st rounder, and 1 is off the table. In terms of players, they don't really have much there either. TJ Warren and Alex Len are decent, but both are due extensions this year, Booker and Jackson are off the table, and it doesn't make sense for the Grizzlies to acquire Chandler, and all their other players suck

Bulls are definitely in play, but they're really high on Carter Jr and Porter Jr, one of whom will most definitely be there at 7, so they don't really have a huge incentive to move up. They can definitely offer better vets and LaVine is a better prospect than anything we're offering, so if they wanted to, they could definitely outbid us. Really just depends on who the Bulls want and how the draft shakes out

I'd rather the Knicks trade with the Hawks to ensure Donic (assuming he doesn't go #2) but I don't see the Knicks as trade partners in terms of offering salary relief. The Hawks would just have to like the concept of turning #3 into # 9 and a 2019 unprotected 1st, I'd think. Or like 1-3 protected. In fact, it would probably take #9, #36, and a future 1st.
I'm not paying close enough attention, but it seems like the Knicks would have to send about the same amount of salary the Hawks are looking to dump. Oh, and I'd take Bazemore on in a minute. But only for #3, and honestly, I'd assume the Hawks are dangling Bazemore for #19 or #20

Seems like quite a few other teams can offer more cap relief or better players or a better combination. Once I read that I instantly took the Knicks out of the running in my mind. It's just easier that way. Knicks never come through in situations like this.

That’s just it. Comes down to other teams willingness to eat that $50mill.

Chi - Lopez and Holiday plus 8
Dallas - Matthews plus 5 (probably not worth it unless they love Bamba)
Orl - Vuc and Ross plus 6, but they need a G
Cle - the love plus 8 deal makes sense, but is probably a big overpay. They can keep 8 and still get assets for Love.
Also rumour is they are keeping Love.

Really, if we’re willing to overpay you skip Mem and talk to Atl, maybe even a 3 way with Mem.

For once we have all of our picks. Cap room 2019 and we drafting young players and not trading them for vets. And sense we can not trade up everyone saying same old knicks really. We doing the right thing relax enjoy the ride
