I want Huerter. I think he ends up being a complete player.

He's been talked about on this board for a month, at least.

Word. I'm late to the draft party but he's not on the poll and someone said something dumb when I brought him up earlier today.

If we trade up to draft Doncic you'll find me running through the streets buck-naked.

Yeah, Chuckles. Plenty of us know about Musa. My main concern (and he’s listed in my tiers) is defense. Period. Other than that, extremely gifted and untapped offensive wing.

Larry Harris said Draymond Green's given the front office a piece of advice: "There are 82-game players, then there are 16-game players." Draymond's interested in the 16-game (playoff-type) players

James said the key to winning a championship is "you've got to be very cerebral too."

James then explained what it takes to be the last team standing, and in the process seemed to take a swipe at unnamed current and former teammates.

"So now everyone is trying to figure that out," he said. "How do you put together a group of talent but also a group of minds to be able to compete with Golden State, to be able to compete for a championship? That's what GMs and presidents and certain players, it's not every player. Every player does not want to — sad to say — but every player doesn't want to compete for a championship and be in a position where every possession is pressure."

"When you make mistakes they make you pay," he said, "because they're already more talented than you are but they also have the minds behind it, too, and they also have the championship DNA."

Hope our FO was paying attention in the playoffs, bring the defense and the BBIQ in this draft

New DX mock this morning:

1. Suns - Ayton
2. Kings - Bagley (mentions they're deciding between him or trading down for Porter)
3. Hawks - Doncic (ownership loves Doncic)
4. Grizz - Jaren Jackson (says a trade is currently viewed as unlikely)
5. Mavs - Bamba (Cuban likes Porter)
6. Magic - Shai G-A (Teams have no clue who they actually like)
7. Bulls - Wendell (Porter is the backup plan)
8. Cavs - Michael Porter (may trade up for Porter, also rumored to like Shai)
9. Knicks - Knox (widely assumed in NBA circles that this is the Knicks' guy)
10. 76ers - Mikal Bridges (same case as the Knicks)
11. Hornets - Sexton (would prefer Shai due to Monk's relative lack of size)
12. Clippers - Trae (want a PG)
13. Clippers - Jerome Robinson (Huerter and Robert Williams also under consideration)
14. Nuggets - Miles Bridges (rumored to like the Bridges, Robinson, and Zhaire)
15. Wizards - Lonnie Walker
16. Suns - Holiday (has drawn a huge amount of interest from Phoenix)
17. Bucks - Donte DiVincenzo (Robinson/Zhaire are the other possibilities)
18. Spurs - Robert Williams (they want Lonnie Walker)
19. Hawks - Zhaire Smith (hoping to trade up from here for Trae or Lonnie)
20. Wolves - Huerter
21. Jazz - Grayson Allen (rumored to prefer Huerter or DiVincenzo)
22. Bulls - Hutchison
23. Pacers - Okobo
24. Blazers - Troy Brown (mentions Simons as a possibility here)
25. Lakers - Simons
26. 76ers - Musa (expected to take a draft-and-stash guy here)
27. Celtics - Melton
28. Warriors - Okogie
29. Nets - Bates-Diop
30. Hawks - Brunson

Second Round:

31. Suns - Mo Wagner
32. Grizz - Melvin Frazier
33. Mavs - Bruce Brown
34. Hawks - Rodions Kurucs
35. Magic - Devonte Graham

56. 76ers - Ray Spalding
57. Thunder - Gary Clark
58. Nuggets - Svi Mykhailiuk

I think we need to swing for the fences and get like 2 Top 15 Picks; preferably in Top 10.

In kinda order I like:
Williams (probably not there?)
Smith (see above?)

Thomas (really like)
Holiday (like quite a bit)

Musa (lukewarm)
Huerter (lukewarm)

Would absolutely love picking up one (or two, or three) of these guys in the second somehow:
Clark
Vanderbilt
Mykhailiuk

That probably means moving Middleton or Bledsoe. Which I'm totally on board with.

Definitely down to move Bledsoe. Ideally he's the one we package for a high draft pick.

With Middleton, it's hard because unless we get a top 5 pick in a package for him, trading away his production will be hard to rationalize to probably both the fan base and Giannis.

The great thing about the Bucks is you only have to rationalize something to the fan base for about 2 months until 95% of the fan base checks out around the start of December.

I feel pretty confident in saying that Middleton as the center piece can get you the #6 pick...I think there is probably some how, some way that if things feel a certain way, #17 and Bledsoe could maybe get you to #8.

I'm not sure if any of Brogdon, Maker, whatever close the gap from those two picks up to get the real difference makers in this draft. Like if Brogdon and 8 got you #2. Then you could likely leave this draft with Doncic and Bamba.

That'd be a pretty damn interesting team

I'd prefer the Doncic and Bridges route....Gives you something like a poor man Steve Nash and Draymond Green collection.
