Zhaire Smith
Lonnie Walker
Jerome Robinson

I’d be happy with any of these 3. Hoping we grab a second and snag Brunson or Mitchell Robinson.

We're totally going to screw this up. Any hope of trading up or picking the right player is almost a zero percent for me.

With the #17 pick, the Milwaukee Bucks select... Moritz Wagner, Center, Michigan. *Sobs uncontrollably*

Replace Robinson with Huerter and those are the 3 I'd be happy with.

If Bob Williams is there at 17 and the Bucks don't take him, it's entirely possible my clicker goes flying through the TV.

My TV will suffer as well.

Drafting Donte would be such a DJ Wilson pick. Their college production are eerily similar with of course the big couple games at the end.

Forget who else is on the board, taking Donte in and of itself would be enough to warrant the destruction of various household electronics.

This might be a bit unpopular, but after watching/reading a bit about Spellman, put me in the "I'm a fan" category. Seems like there is some upside athletically working with a NBA training staff too. I don't think I would be mad if we called his name at 17 frankly.

I'd much rather trade down or buy a second, but that dude looks like a guy that is going to have a Kelly Olynyk / Aaron Baynes type career if he takes his body seriously.

Today is one of those days I wonder how the bucks will screw this up.

Spellman is a really good prospect, would have been in my 3 in this poll if he was on the list. He's a real big man who can really shoot.

Out of curiosity, why? Had two good years of production, efficient, rebounds nearly as well as DJ Wilson did, versatile, good size for the 1, seems to give good effort defensively, as I recall tested outstanding, seems like his great championship game is almost being used against him. Seems there is enough production over the last two years to merit being a mid to late first.

folks at walter football have this :

Milwaukee Bucks: Chimezie Metu, PF, USC, 6-10, Jr.

There's no such thing as a reach in the NBA Draft once you escape the lottery. Chimezie Metu is slotted in the middle of the second round of every mock I've seen, but I've heard that the Bucks are smitten with him.

Today is also one of those days where I wonder, "will I get anything productive done?"....I mean, I know the answer though.

Plus Robert Williams and Troy Brown Jr. One of those 5 is almost guaranteed to be there at #17. One of those 5 and I won't be upset.

Who is Chimezie?

Via The Ringer:

Pluses:
  1. Explosive pick-and-roll lob threat who can catch tough passes, finish with touch using either hand, and handle contact.
  2. Flashes face-up scoring potential; he has a quick first step and handles the ball well for a big, which shows most in transition.
  3. Has post scoring upside once his footwork improves; he has good touch, especially on his jump hook.
  4. Shoots well from midrange and the free throw line, so he could add a 3 — though his unorthodox mechanics may need refining.
  5. Displays passing upside off the dribble, though he takes too make careless risks throwing the ball into traffic.
  6. Blocks shots with either hand, and he’s a quick leaper who alters shots even when he doesn’t make contact with the ball.
  7. Could become a good perimeter defender; he has quickness and closes out well, but his footwork needs a lot of work.

Weaknesses:

  1. His entire offensive skill set is unpolished, but his rate of improvement flatlined from his sophomore to junior season.
  2. He’s a good athlete but has a short wingspan relative to his height.
  3. Inconsistent rebounder who needs to box out more frequently.
  4. Off-ball defense can use work in regard to focus and positioning; he’s too often a beat late on rotations.
  5. Sloppy screener, though he got moderately better while in college.
  6. In January, he was stripped of his captaincy and suspended for a half-game for intentionally punching an opponent in the groin.

is it bad that i like a bunch of players who are projected late first/early second round...almost more than I like some of the guys projected around 17?

i'd love for the Bucks to be able to take a bunch of swings in this draft...guys like Anfernee Simmons and Mitchell Robinson for example.

after talking about all of these names, I could easily see us being like "who????!!!??" when the pick is announced. Horst gonna Horst.

Still sticking with my DDV prediction from yesterday. Had been a lot of smoke coming from the organization earlier in the process, including from Marques.

It's a so-so pick to me and I think it's going to take him longer to acclimate than other guys, although I think he's got a pro skill set and good quickness.

I like Mo's coordination and skill level as a big, I just think picking him in the 1st round would have been a lot more useful 5-10 years ago before the proliferation of 4 out play. He's a dime-a-dozen player now.

Hoopshype had a story that the Bulls are trying to move into the top 5 to get Bamba...Have to wonder if we did Lopez/22 for Henson/17, would the 7th and 17th pick be enough to get them up a few spots to do it.

If I was Horsty, that is exactly the type of move I'd be looking to make.
