Where is Huerter projected? Gimme him over Donte easily - more size, younger, better bet to actually make jumpshots in the NBA

Yeah the Big Ragu is a top notch nickname. Much better than DJ "Lanky Smooth" Wilson.

I think people are just suggesting he is in play because of the championship game, and maybe while true for some, there is plenty there to like.
If you take the big tournament out of it, is anyone even talking about him in the first round? That's what I keep coming back to. His lack of true positional versatility is a hindrance on his overall outlook imo. What do you see his outlook as? Courtney Lee? Tyler Johnson? Certainly not bad players, but I think you can aim higher.

If you're an upperclassmen and don't have elite physical tools, then there has to be some elite skill potential there. I don't see that with DiVincenzo at all. Classic case of a guy who's gonna look great in scrimmages and controlled athletic testing because he's simply trying harder than most other guys. I'll never dock him for his work ethic and intensity, that's for sure.
You wanting elite anything with the 17th pick is a bit of a pipe dream.

If you're a 6'4 wing/guard without true PG skills or borderline freakish athleticism, then you better be elite at some other skill or else you're not an NBA player.
You mean besides his elite efg% and fantastic TS%

College efficiency isn't a skill, it's a byproduct of all his skills/tools in college. None of which to me look like they translate well to the NBA.

That’s fine. I agree to disagree.

I should clarify that I am not like some big DDV advocate, he falls in the "ok, that will work" category for me. As far as would he be talked about as a first rounder, I think probably so, he seems to be there in a lot of mocks now, but I think that is more because of the combine. But we obviously don't know for sure.

I've seen him in that 16-20 range a lot. He is also the guy I am going with.

I am preparing for Huerter going 1 pick ahead of us and it's really pissing me off.

Makes sense. It's terrible.
I was fooled by college efficiency in the case of Nik Stauskas. Won't make that mistake again.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft pt 2 - NOW WITH A POLL
I’ve been in on DVD since Porter went back to school. Yeah he had a great tournament, but he was also one hell of a player all season long. He’s a high energy guy that can immediately give you 20 minutes a night.
Stauskas couldn’t shoot off the dribble and had zero playmaking ability. That comparison is weak.

Except most of the top players in this draft are in the top 100 for player efficiency. It seems this rationale violates a few logical fallacies.

But he’s white and doesn’t have great size. The resemblances are uncanny obviously. /s

Although can't see him getting past the Wizards, who I think will pick him or Mitchell Robinson. They need a center, bad.
Undersized center that is neither good defensively nor offensively and can't make FTs? Yuck.
He's literally won conference defensive player of the year the past two years, had a 62% TS% and finished in the 98th percentile of big men in terms of finishing at the rim.
I don't follow the draft enough to know anything about the guy and the bolded part may or may not mean anything but......

That's really honestly not true.

Winning a DPOY in college because of your physical attributes does not equal a "good defender." Your advantages are far less at the next level.

These were legitimately the reasons he rose up draft boards.
