My memory is that the Hornets spoke with him at the combine as well.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Mitch said that Miles was the guy they were targeting. He said he was the highest player on the board when we came up to draft.
Unfortunately, he's also signed with Clutch. So Mitch will have to deal with that down the road.

Welcome to Charlotte - Miles Bridges
I'm not Mr. Sunshine of the board by any means but the negativity tonight is tiring.

I guess our current front office is pretty hard to read for guys like Woj. Reports were saying SGA was the guy at the top of the board
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Re: Welcome to Charlotte - Miles Bridges
Miles was a target from day 1. Kupchak always planned on keeping Kemba (thank you MJ). They wanted him more than SGA but we'll never know about Sexton. At any rate, Kupchak spooked the Clippers into giving up 2 picks. Please read the article and note the date MAY 17, more than 1 month ago.

I agree. I think that the team is going to need to win a bit more for things to turn around here though. Hopefully next year is a good one.

With MPJ's medicals horrific I think Miles was probably #1 on a majority of big boards at least ESPN had him #2 behind Porter so technically BPA at #12.

There’s no reason to be positive, other than blind hope. He’s too slow to guard smaller players and not big enough to guard bigger players. He’s not often in shape (granted, most of us fans aren’t either). We drafted Anthony Bennett 2.0. Some day in the future there may be reason to be positive, but it is years and years away. In the interim, sit back and witness the worst franchise in sports.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte - Miles Bridges
I'd like to think we wanted Miles so bad last year, that when he decided to go back to school, we purposely traded for Dwight so we could be mediocre but not super terrible. Just so we would be in position to get Miles this year.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

Your gloom and shade is IDENTICAL to the junk fans on this site dumped on Kemba all those games for 2 years. Now it's YOU wanting everyone to share your miserable outlook towards the guy with unconventional measureables.

"He has the power-dunking ability of Larry Nance Jr., the physique of P.J. Tucker, and the finesse-oriented game of a shooter like C.J. Miles. There were only three players in the 2017-18 season who attempted as many 3s (5.5 per game) and grabbed as many rebounds (7.6) as Bridges did at Michigan State: DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Love, and Aaron Gordon. Bridges is more versatile defensively than the two big men, and a better shooter than Gordon.
"There aren’t many big men with the quickness to stay with him at the 3-point line, or perimeter players with the strength to body him up. Bridges doesn’t play the same position as Donovan Mitchell, and he may never be a lead ball handler, but there are some clear similarities between the two. He’s an elite athlete with a high basketball IQ, and he will get major minutes from Day 1 because he’s a volume 3-point shooter who can hold his own defensively."
Well damn.

I mean name a franchise that has less success and relevance then us? The Nets? Maybe, but at least they had the finals run and the Carter-Kidd era. Maybe the Clippers? At least they had the lob city era. We haven't had a relevant team since the early 2000s. Its very sad, not only are we one of the most irrelevant franchise right now, we may be the most irrelevant franchise of all time.

This is a Trainwreck. We have no plan. Just keep making same type of picks. How many forwards/centers have we drafted in the last handful of years? Why is MKG still here?

If the team wants to run we should keep him. MKG is really good in transition, Marvin couldn't grab a rebound and start a fast break to save his life.
