Absolute no-brainer at #48. Makes you wonder what everyone else was thinking.

I absolutely love this pick. I would have considered Bates-Diop at 20, so for me this is like getting another 1st rounder.

do not care if he's "old". man I love what our bench is going to look like. Should be able to spell some minutes from Jimmy and not give up the lead instantly

Love the pick. Why did he drop? One of his writeups said he had a stress fracture in a previous season.
Backup 4 and hope to eventually push Taj?

Nice to see us with an eye to the future and some potential replacements if jimmy leaves or we end up trading wiggins.
I was really not looking forward to our wing and big rotation being filled out with scrap heap vets.

A guy I wanted at #20. Really really happy he lasted until #48. The depth in this draft is great and this is a home-run for us. Love KBD.

Great pick. Could've easily been a mid 1st rounder. Think we did well with him and Okogie.

RED FLAG: Wiggins 2.0

Spliced in between his 12 made field goals, seven rebounds and three steals that night were moments when Bates-Diop was calling out and-ones when driving assertively to the rim. He used his pterodactyl arms at one point to motion to the crowd, asking for more noise on what had been the loudest afternoon in Value City Arena in three of four years.

To know how out of character that is, you have to know how shy Bates-Diop is. Jae'Sean Tate, personality-wise Bates-Diop's polar opposite, said his teammate out in public is the kind of guy who will pull his hood up high and keep his head down while walking through campus to avoid attention. Bates-Diop speaks in a soft mumble, often shrugging his shoulders as he talks -- not because he's unsure of himself, he just still seems a little surprised that people want to talk to him.

Didn't realize how big he is 6'8.5 with a 7'3.25 wingspan at 224 - Looking back to last years draft, he's taller and longer than Jordan Bell and OJ Anunoby who played some PF/C last year so I like that he has the size and length to be that defensive combo 3/4 that we haven't had.

Didn't really want him at #20, but #48? What incredible value. Also just a perfect fit backing up the 3. This was a typical Thibs draft, and I love it.

A comp I made in the prospect thread a week or two ago: Dante Cunningham

How many good years did all the one-and-done guys have?

Lol, so a 18 year old having a good year is the same as a 22 year old having a good year?
