Said it in the other thread, I like bringing in Brown. SG desperately needs some athleticism.

I would have went with Duval or Melton over Brown, but dig Thomas trade. I think they'll try to mold Khyri into a primary ball handler PG type first, even understanding it's a guard-wing-center league now.

However, its been reported that Stefanski was largely going to use SVG's already prepared draft board and notes.

If that's the case, I can't get real excited with either of the picks.

Brown - a shooting guard who can’t shoot. He’ll fit right in.

A guard that shoots 54% from the field and was Big East DPOY sounds pretty good.

Of note: We don't have a 2nd round pick for the next 4 years currently

Both dropped some because of their age - both 22 yrs old. Seen as limited upside. 20 years ago everybody came out being that old.

This is crazy for a team not in contention. We should of been hording 2nd rounders all these years to try to hit some gems not shipping them out to chase 8 seeds.

Not as painful when you have first rounders though.

Meanwhile the Sixers pick up two seconds and Miami’s first - one of these front offices knows what they’re doing!

Given the circumstances, these were two good pickups. Love the Thomas trade. He's super long, plays great D and can shoot.

63% from 2 and 41% from 3.

Considering they’re both older, I hope this means that we’re not signing anyone to long term deals, and these two get some run. Thomas has a puncher’s chance, Brown most likely will be a waste imo.....

Creighton has had pretty good success producing solid 3 point shooters, Anthony Tolliver, Kyle Korver, Doug McDermott.

Hopefully Khyri can continue that trend.

lol -- so if SVG (in reality, Bowers) really liked these guys too, that instantly makes the picks trash? Come on man....

Stefanski didn't have a ton of time to prep, so of course he's at least referencing the scouting that the previous front office was probably compiling for the better part of a year. He still decided to trade to get two guys, and ultimately made the call on who would be suiting up for us in what is a pretty unpredictable 2nd round.

I do think it's curious that we went with guards with both picks. Shows some trust in Henry, as we're pretty thin behind Blake if Tolliver leaves and Leuer continues to struggle. But Stefanski did say that he would go with upside with our pick, so the value may just not have been there for them at that position.

The one who traded Tatum for a BUST and a good future 1st?
