Alright, sure, whatever. At least the Cho and Clifford era is over and we didn't draft Robert Williams to turn into a stretch 4.

We were either picking him, one of the PG's or Porter.

Porter fell to 14 so he has huge injury concerns and It probably doesn't make sense to pick a PG considering our best player and highest upside player are both PG's. This pick was probably the best combo for a position we need (2-way 3&D SF/PF) and decent upside while not having red flags.

I think the negativity is overblown, i suspect the people being mad would be mad no matter who we picked.

There were only three players in the 2017-18 season who attempted as many 3s (5.5 per game) and grabbed as many rebounds (7.6) as Bridges did at Michigan State: DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Love, and Aaron Gordon. Bridges is more versatile defensively than the two big men, and a better shooter than Gordon.

"There aren’t many big men with the quickness to stay with him at the 3-point line, or perimeter players with the strength to body him up. Bridges doesn’t play the same position as Donovan Mitchell, and he may never be a lead ball handler, but there are some clear similarities between the two. He’s an elite athlete with a high basketball IQ, and he will get major minutes from Day 1 because he’s a volume 3-point shooter who can hold his own defensively."

Well damn.

But hey, this is a "safe pick with a low ceiling" because he played more than one year of college. I think I'm doing this right

Miles said he wants to dunk on Draymond, lol. I hope he does, it would be fun to see.

If the team wants to run we should keep him. MKG is really good in transition, Marvin couldn't grab a rebound and start a fast break to save his life.
. I think year one Miles will face smaller players as he adjusts to the physicality of the NBA. He will need minutes at SF. We are stuck with Batum. As Batum ages, Batum will see more minutes as a small ball PF, with Miles taking SF, and Batum phasing out Marvin. I also think MKG is easier to move.

I asked my sister about Bridges a few days ago. She follows Michigan State closely, and comments, "He has a high 'basketball IQ' and has some plays that just make you gasp."

As a small forward, he needs to develop a better mid-range jumper. His three-point form is peculiar, since he starts with the feet apart, then brings them together in the jump. But at age 20, I am pretty high on this guy. Athleticism is great, but it's even better if you have someone who has a good understanding of the game, and is willing to learn.

This is the classic "meh" pick I should expect out of this team yet am always disappointed when they do it. I'm pretty sure we just traded away the perfect fit for our roster in SGA for a classic tweener like some weird hybrid of PJ Tucker and Derrick Williams. Literally the one guy that has been mocked to go in our range that I didn't like. The only one.

If we're going to pass on SGA for a tweener forward with several question marks, why not the one with the way higher ceiling in Michael Porter, who was viewed as a definite top 8 pick until this morning? That's a risk I'm very willing to take over Miles Bridges.

Hopefully Borrego can sprinkle his magical Spurs dust on Bridges and make him gain great handles or something, otherwise I have absolutely no faith in him being more than a mediocre starter. My hope for this team is dwindling by the day. Different management, same **** decisions

We traded away a tall not even athletic point guard who takes 45 minutes to get his shot off. Im not even mad.

There’s no reason to be positive, other than blind hope. He’s too slow to guard smaller players and not big enough to guard bigger players. He’s not often in shape (granted, most of us fans aren’t either). We drafted Anthony Bennett 2.0. Some day in the future there may be reason to be positive, but it is years and years away. In the interim, sit back and witness the worst franchise in sports.

Your gloom and shade is IDENTICAL to the junk fans on this site dumped on Kemba all those games for 2 years. Now it's YOU wanting everyone to share your miserable outlook towards the guy with unconventional measureables.

Uh, yeah. Exactly.

I wanted Kemba and he turned out great. I didn't want MKG and he sucked ass. He still sucks ass and it will be so Hornets when he spends his whole career here.

I didn't want Anthony Bennett 2.0 either, but the Three Stooges (Jordan/Polk/Mitch) couldn't resist. Until he proves that he can be a good player, he's Anthony Bennett with a better Twitter history. This team isn't going anywhere anyway, so I guess it's irrelevant.

We've picked four straight players who have declined to work out for us... Noah, Frank, Monk, and miles. I like the miles pick, but considering the last three haven't quite worked out like we hoped maybe we should stop picking players that we haven't seen in a private setting. I don't know. 8-)

His twitter is entertaining. If only it added to his wingspan.

How can we already assume Monk wont work out. The only part, IMO about Monk, is that the coach held him back. I'm not saying he would have went full-Mitchell on us, but once the slack was given for him to play, he showed flashes. I truly think he is a Steve Francis-esque player that will thrive next to Kemba and with a capable coach.

As for trading SGA, that is a clear signal to me that this team wants to keep Kemba, and move someone else (MKG, Marv, Lamb) in order to have the money to do so. If they keep Kemba and Monk in the backcourt, SGA becomes a 6th man. At #11, I'll pass on that for a high-upside athletic wing that could be an addition to Kemba and Monk, rather than a guy off the bench.

I'd prefer Kemba-Monk-Miles rather than SGA-Monk-MKG.

No, what I was saying is our last four draft picks have all been players that we did not work out prior to the draft. Noah Frank monk and now miles all declined to work out with us prior to the draft. I just think that's a little odd. But again I'm very happy with the miles pick he and sexton were the 2 I was targeting going into this because I wanted some players with some attitude to mix in with softies.

what are the chances that we convinced miles to cancel his work out with us as part of our Smokescreen in order to convince the Clippers to trade in front of us. Food for thought.

OOOOOOOOPS, my bad on that. I totally misread that as purely the player, not the workout. 8-)
