Are you expecting actual good players with 53 and 57?

I think he was hoping we'd trade up or something.

Hamidou Diallo, Kevin Hervey, and Devon Hall.

Not a bad day @ the office.

Diallo has got some bounce that's for sure. He and Ferguson can have some fun in the layup lines.

Don't know what we traded for Diallo but I like that we got two big dice rolls in him and Hervey. I don't know anything about Hall other than what I've read in the past thirty or so minutes but he's less of a big gamble.

I think Hall has something more than just 53rd overall pick. Maybe I’m crazy though

Trade can't be completed till July 6th since Diallo was selected with a pick that was traded to Brooklyn in the Dwight Howard deal, so I'm assuming details won't be out for a while? :-?

Thanks.

What do you expect/hope what we send out?

I guess it is a 2019 unprotected second round pick.

I think that LAC/CHA trade is gonna bite the clips in the buns. Miles is more of a stud than either cat they drafted and they gave up two 2nds to move up one spot.

I’m pretty good with what we came out of the draft with overall. I can’t be too disappointed considering that most guys I liked in the draft besides Khyri Thomas were drafted in the first round and I saw no avenues to get that high unless Adams or Ferguson were in play.

I legitimately know next to nothing about Hall and only a little about Hervey. I like Hervey as a gamble though.

I got hit with the old switcharoo on Diallo. Before the draft, I was sure Presti would take a flyer on him if he was available. Once he got drafted by Charlotte I figured that ship had sailed. Guess who trades up to get him..
I’m kinda shocked that they didn’t draft Alkins honestly instead of Diallo. I’m fine with Diallo at this point in the draft though.

Just tell me this: Did we get at least one athlete who can't shoot? If so, I'm happy.

No, but it's the underwhelmingness of not having a pick (AGAIN) and having traded it for Enes Kanter, after not having a pick having traded it for Dion, and there's a chance we don't have one in two years for another player that's not even on the roster. It's a remark on the position we were in last night, not the actual selections.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I would've liked some type of move, but it's more the frustration of watching that whole thing and not really having any chance of being excited for next year at the end of the night. That's apparently what it feels like when you've got no assets and aren't contending.

That said, at least Diallo has the possibility of being something, even if it's completely unlikely it ever materializes.

“Most of Hamidou Diallo’s pluses come with an asterisk because of his offensive issues. The potential is there if he dedicates himself to grow his overall game.

Isolating on what he does well is all tied to his defensive ability and his overall athleticism.”

Read this on the charlottte board:

Why he fits: Diallo is the prototype for what NBA teams are looking for at the wing position, standing 6-6, with a near 7-foot wingspan, a frame that will fill out in time and thermonuclear athleticism. His shooting mechanics are far from broken, and he showed marked improvement with his jumper over the past two years, completely revamping his mechanics. He has always been described by those around him as an incredibly hard worker who has little interests outside of basketball. Diallo's defense was inconsistent, but he improved as the year moved on; late in the season, Diallo had some remarkable stretches where he looked like one of the best wing defenders in the college game.

Despite spending a year and a half in Lexington, Diallo still hasn't turned 20. Considering his offensive limitations, there's a case to be made that he was in one of the worst situations of any prospect in this draft in terms of highlighting his deficiencies, playing the shooting guard position while being surrounded by non-shooters.

Drawbacks: Diallo was far from a productive player this past season, looking borderline unplayable at times during the SEC conference slate. His feel for the game leaves a lot to be desired, as evidenced by him averaging more turnovers than assists this season, a testament to his unrefined ball-handling ability and court vision. Diallo's 62 free throw percentage was not encouraging despite showing improvement as a shooter overall this past season, hinting at his struggles with the mental side of the game, especially in terms of how much his confidence fluctuates. Although Diallo could potentially be a great defender in time, he was inconsistent in this area at Kentucky, not always playing with the type of intensity level you'd like to see.
