Summer League 2018

Post#1 » by Saberestar » Tue Jun 12, 2018 9:43 pm

The NBA today announced the game and broadcast schedules for NBA Summer League 2018 in Las Vegas.

The 12-day, 82-game competition features all 30 NBA teams for the first time and tips off on Friday, July 6, continuing through Tuesday, July 17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.

The Phoenix Suns, who hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, will open against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. PT at Thomas & Mack Center with the game televised on ESPN.

The Suns will again play on ESPN when they headline the opening weekend by taking on the Sacramento Kings, who hold the No. 2 selection in the NBA Draft, on Saturday, July 7 (4:30 p.m. at Thomas & Mack Center).

The Suns are also scheduled to face the Orlando Magic on Monday, July 9 (6:30 p.m. at Thomas & Mack Center; televised on NBA TV).

Following these three contests, the Suns will play at least two more games as part of a tournament-style schedule to determine the NBA Summer League 2018 Champion.

For the first time, every Summer League game will air live on television, on the ESPN networks and NBA TV, and also for the first time, all 30 NBA teams will participate.

Each team will play a minimum of five games at NBA Summer League, starting with three preliminary contests from July 6-10. The teams will then be seeded in the tournament, which starts on July 11 and concludes with the Championship Game on July 17.

Serious, as dumb as it sounds, that team better win every game.

I've been going to SL the last four years. I posted photos of Earl, McD and $arver along with family + I'm assuming exclusive season ticket holders that rented a section at Thomas and Mack Center every time. Going to make it year five, it would be great if we could get some RealGM board members to also join in the action. It's always been a great time, beers on me. (Just don't be weird) <3

They should be able to go undefeated with those players going 4v5.

I really hope Davon Reed plays the 2 in summer league. We took him over Jordan Bell, let's see what he can do.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I wouldn't be opposed to see Alec "36 pts and 9 rebs" Peters put in some time at the 2 in the SL.

Peters and House are free agents so I'm not sure they will play for the Suns in Las Vegas.

Josh should really play most of the games. It's good for him to work on his shooting and defense in a somewhat competitive setting like this. Yeah the competition's not great but guys are fighting for roster spots in summer league so it's still something.

3 of them will probably be our starters so I really hope they will dominate in the summer league.

How many years can guys play in summer league? 3? No real reason Chriss and Bender shouldn't play....especially after Chriss' showing last year. And ESPECIALLY if Igor coaches...the earlier they start playing with these guys the better.
