There’s no reason to be positive, other than blind hope. He’s too slow to guard smaller players and not big enough to guard bigger players. He’s not often in shape (granted, most of us fans aren’t either). We drafted Anthony Bennett 2.0. Some day in the future there may be reason to be positive, but it is years and years away. In the interim, sit back and witness the worst franchise in sports.

Your gloom and shade is IDENTICAL to the junk fans on this site dumped on Kemba all those games for 2 years. Now it's YOU wanting everyone to share your miserable outlook towards the guy with unconventional measureables.

Uh, yeah. Exactly.

I wanted Kemba and he turned out great. I didn't want MKG and he sucked ass. He still sucks ass and it will be so Hornets when he spends his whole career here.

I didn't want Anthony Bennett 2.0 either, but the Three Stooges (Jordan/Polk/Mitch) couldn't resist. Until he proves that he can be a good player, he's Anthony Bennett with a better Twitter history. This team isn't going anywhere anyway, so I guess it's irrelevant.

I know. You defended Kemba against the nonsense despite his unconventional measureables. Yet, you're diving head first into attacks on Miles for his. You're part of that crowd this time. You're leading the charge. I defended Kemba as well. I will defend Miles and I want you guys to bring it.

This is the crux of the debate between the two camps for and against the pick. It signals Kemba stays and a rebuild where current players are developed, and new ones are added to weed out some of the poor fits.

I suspect some secretly preferred a rebuild that includes MKG and excludes Kemba. How a fan could watch this team the past 5 years and make that determination is beyond me. MKG is part of the problem. I think he's next to go after Dwight. Marvin Williams as well.

Seeing the direction of the league it's also baffling that SGA + MKG would be a road we want to go down.

Kemba - Monk - Miles is a combination far more in tune with today's game.

The same people here freaking out about passing on mpj would have been freaking out about taking Mitchell over Monk last year

Mitch is awful. So far he has stockpiled second round picks that no one will want, we’re on the hook for Mozgov and his awful contract for two years, and we ended up with a tweener we didn’t even work out.

Instead of worrying about what I say, worry about why I’m saying it. This offseason we have:

- traded Dwight’s expiring for 2 years of Mozgov and 2 2nd-rounders
- sold one of them (Diallo) to buy 20 more MJ minutes at the roulette table
- drafted a guy with no real position and unlike Kemba, no star potential

I’m fine with passing on Porter. The screwup was trading our PG of the future for a combination of PJ Hairston and Anthony Bennett.

Not sure why your acting like SGA is some kind of unicorn player. He's as flawed as anyone else. I'm glad we got an actual shooter.

 Man, I couldn't wait to get on here this morning, and you guys did not disappoint!

This was a great pick considering our position. I did kinda want Porter, even with his many flags, just to swing for the fences, but Miles is going to be a damn good player. Everyone is so obsessed with measurables, but last I checked the combine doesn't win games, playing basketball does. I love how people have been screaming for Batum or MKG to play PF for us for the last few years, but somehow Miles is too small to do it? That's just dumb. He will be a better NBA player than college player, and he was a damn good college player.

Did you see the ESPN draft comparisons? SGA got MCW, Miles got Larry Johnson...who would you rather have? lol.

All the tweener talk is ridiculous in todays positionless landscape, you people are just looking for a reason to bitch so you can temper your expectations and be self-righteous if we don't do well. The guy is a fiery, versatile, ambidextrous, explosive dunk machine with a solid 3 point stroke on high volume. If he was 2 inches taller he'd be tabbed the next superstar, so how bout we just sit back and watch....I know I'm pretty damn excited to watch him and Monk play together.

Miles reminds me a bit of Aaron Gordon, hopefully he is a bit better than him.

I'd take MCW over Larry Johnson in a heartbeat. MCW has length and that's what wins. Winning. It's all about winning.

Well if ESPN says it, it has to be true

It'll be fun watching the spin-doctoring after Miles' 6.3 ppg, 4.1-rpg rookie season. We'll probably look dumb for not choosing Porter but I don't think he was a fit here, anyway.

And if Miles turns out to be a star, I'm fine with getting roasted on here.

But there better be no roasting just because he had 2-3 double-doubles as a rookie and we're doing the official Hornets RealGM stance of "deluding ourselves into justifying stupid decisions"

Porter is most likely not even going to play next season and he got the same back surgery as Tiger Woods and Steve Kerr....these are not good signs

Bennett had no drive. He never lost weight and he never invested effort in his development. He also didn't possess 1/10 of Miles' athleticism. Let's also not forget Miles shot 37% from 3 on high volume with limited space.

At any rate, I won't roast you. I will defend Miles until you burn out from attacking him. I suspect you will convert very early on. So I'm not worried about defending him all year.

Yeah...luckily your opinions have no effect on my enjoyment of following the Hornets, apart from making this forum a little harder to slog through, so I will not be coming here to "roast" anyone, regardless of how he works out, or doesnt.

Welcome to Charlotte - Miles Bridges

Post#157 » by TheKingofSting » Fri Jun 22, 2018 2:09 pm

12. Clippers (via Pistons) — Miles Bridges, SF/PF

TRADE: Bridges is headed to Charlotte as a result of the aforementioned deal for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Michigan State sophomore fits the profile for what the Hornets have looked for in recent years in terms of productive college players. Bridges has the potential to be one of the best wing prospects in this class. He’s an effective shooter off movement with a touch of creative juice on the offensive end. Defensively, he should translate right away due to a strong frame. Bridges was the No. 7-ranked prospect on our final Big Board. Nice value here.

Same, I'm embarrassed at some of the reactions. If we are ever fortunate enough to bring home an NBA Title someone on here would find something negative to say about the championship parade.

I think people look at his stats and think he didn't improve but cmon.. Their first year they were a 20 win team and there were only 2 other double digit scorers. This year they were a 30 win team and had 4 other double digit scorers.

I'm here to officially agree with MasterIchiro. Miles Bridges is worlds better than Anthony Bennett ever was. He's way more athletic, has a better shot, better handles, and most importantly he has an "I'm that dude" mentality. He will be only the second person we have on our team with that mentality next to Kemba. I think he'll be starting at PF before the allstar break maybe even within the first 20 games.
