I'm starting to get on the Marcus Smart train.
With Booker, Knight, Daniels, and Bridges, and to a lesser extent, Bender, Chriss and Ayton, we have capable shooters.
Adding a bulldog like Smart with defenders like Jackson and Bridges, we could get away with games where we can't shoot the lights out.

I'd definitely like to see some above average quality veterans signed. There is too many young players on this roster for us to have any more than 25-30 wins next seasons. The rebuilding process has taken long enough and it's time for us to start building a winning culture. Getting another top 5 pick next year won't matter as it will just lead us to want to replace the current young guys we have with the next "flavor of the week." Rinse and repeat.

Um. He is not our second best player. Booker, Ayton, Jackson and Bridges are all better.

Only in your mind and on paper. The reality is none of them but Booker have proven it yet.

After all if you can honestly say Bridges is better than Warren then why can we say Bridges is better Jackson or Bridges is better than Booker. At least Bridges plays defense unlike Booker and Bridges can shoot the three unlike Jackson.

YES!!! I had been thinking this as well. I know McD called Mikal a SF-PF, but I think he would work so well as a SG due to his shooting. He could take the better of the two guards on D. Having that lenght at a guard position is super valuable, and it keeps him and JJ on the floor together. The only spot that could use some upgrading is the 4, but Bender could improve and honestly be a good distributer for that group.

Ryan on with Doug and Wolf - good segment, almost 30 minutes -

Ayton was the pick even before the draft
Though Igor of course loved Doncic, even Ryan loved Doncic, the whole staff but Igor is on board with Ayton and whats best for the team moving forward
Booker and Jackson wanted Ayton - Booker hosted Ayton for a night at his house to watch the Finals - so guys are bonding

Knight is looking good - bonding well with teammates

Bridges was a perfect fit for them. Had been calling teams since the lottery in the top 10 to get a second pick as Ryan thought after 10, a steep drop off in talent. Philly liked Zhaire Smith so at the last minute, pulled the trigger

Doug asked who the pick would have been at 16 if Philly never called back: so Gambo would have been right as it would have been "one of Mikals teammates were guys we liked" - so probably Divicenzo is the teammate.

Ryan thinks the Heat will always be competitive so taking a calculated risk the pick will not be in their normal Heat range

Thinks the team will have around 15-20m in cap space with the ability to trade expirings that could increase that number (my guess, Sauce is probably .tbd but with Okobo on the roster, Ulis will be waived)

OKobo will be on roster

And...this allows Booker to rest on defense, guarding the worst offensive player. JJ and Mikal guards the best.....and you have to stud wing defenders. Bender and Ayton will be very capable bigs on the floor too. Only one true weak defender, IMO. And Booker isn't weak strength wise and he can move. He just isn't a good defender because........I don't know why? Worried about O?!?

Edit: Just a starting point obviously.....

I like it, and you will probably see that lineup some this year, but just not enough playmaking on offense there.

I do like the idea tough.

A pick and roll with Booker and Ayton has potential to be unguardable.

It will be interesting how Ryan McD fills out the rest of the roster. The Suns do have cap space but that doesn't mean you need to go Hakim or Childress on the WRONG long term deal to spend it. You can overpay a guy for one year if need be.

Also, what to do with TJ Warren. If he stays on the roster - for sure a bench guy but the team has a decision at the 4. Bender is probably a better fit next to Ayton I would surmise.

And lastly, the other guard position. Is it Knight with Booker? Will it be Smart, Evans, Bradley or a trade for Walker?

Very interesting possibilities. My guess is the rumor mill will slow down for the week end and ramp up next week as trades can be made using the 17/18 cap I do believe. Its how the Jazz got Rubio. They took on 14m as they had it to clear it for the Twolves.

Awful trade. Try again.
