It was probably a mistake he didn't sign a one-year deal in any league. At the very least, he'd be forced to get out of his comfort zone and gain some valuable experience away from home. Leaving the bubble of your local gym to go straight to the NBA can be overwhelming.

He'll need on court coaching and off court life coaching which I believe the Knicks we provide him.

3rd big? You groom him to be the starter. This is a 5-star recruit and was on par with Bamba and JJJ.

This is not the typical second round pick.

....it so funny , people just need to look at the vids against class A talent to see this kid is easily a starter.

Truth is if he did sign to another league Robinson would have been a late lotto pick instead of going 36. We have time to coach him up over the next few years. He could be a monster with his freakish athleticism and size. He has potential to develop into one of the best players in this draft.

I love the length and athleticism he showed in his clips but there was some very intriguing players still on the board when we picked him.

Kyrie Thomas
G.Trent
J.Vanderbilt
B.Brown
J.Jackson
Bonga
K.Bates Diop
D.Melton
S.Milton
Diallo

and others so i get grabbing a kid like M.Robinson who has the length/wingspan and we have the need but i hope he works out cause there was some good ones still left.

Still a little pissed we didn't buy another 2nd round pick with all those names sitting there. Detroit bought the rights to K.Thomas from the 76ers.

"Impressive moments"? What's so impressive about him dunking lobs with no defenders on the court?

Exactly.
This interview gave me a lot more hope for the kid. I think he is just nervous as hell in all the other interviews. This looks to be just after playing, so his nerves aren't as bad.

He seems sheltered and a little immature. Nothing that can't be fixed. He needs to grow up bad.
He's still a kid, it will happen.
He really could have used a year away from home on his own in college. Let him gain independence and break out of his shell a little bit.

Who he surrounds himself with over the next year or two are going to determine a lot about his future.
Someone like Frank will be great for him. Someone like Beasley...not so much.

i'mma check it out before i rush to judgment. thanks!

The kid has a well rounded two way game and is mobile enough to defend in space. He's going to take a few years to mature but he should get the opportunity to grow playing some minutes this season.

I suspect he will flash promisingly...... the great Knick fan hype machine will be in full effect.

i like this gamble over 100% of those picks.

KBD and vanderbilt were the only ones i was interested in, and i think robinson is a better prospect than vanderbilt at a similar position.

bonga almost draft and stash intrigue.

the rest of them? not even a second thought.

frazier would have been an interesting call if both were on the board. but orlando made that easy for us.

I don't really have a problem with the pick but he's gonna need allot of work. I don't see any nba skills just raw athleticism

Magic and the Lakers might have made a mistake by not keeping their promise and taking Robinson at # 25. They got too cute and this might come back to bite them in the butt.
