Pacers To Participate in Las Vegas Summer League

Post#1 » by SuperReggie31 » Wed Jun 13, 2018 6:53 pm

MGM Resorts NBA Summer League, which features all 30 NBA teams for the first time, will tip off with a record 10 games on Friday, July 6 and continue through Tuesday, July 17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The first day of action will include five games on NBA TV and a tripleheader on ESPN.

The tournament-style format will culminate with the Championship Game on July 17 at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Last year’s event, won by the Los Angeles Lakers behind 2017 Summer League MVP Lonzo Ball and 2017-18 NBA All-Rookie First Team selection Kyle Kuzma, set records for total attendance, single-day attendance, combined viewership across ESPN and NBA TV, and traffic to the NBA’s social and digital platforms.

Wow! That is a lot more coverage than years past. Thanks for posting it.

I seem to remember a SuperReggie31 from years ago. Good to see you are still around.

Just to refresh people, the Orlando Summer league is no more, so the Pacers are joining the Las Vegas event for the first time.

I'd add Poythress and Ben Moore to the potential roster list.

And I think I've read somewhere that all 30 teams will participate. Definitely a huge development.

Yep, that's me. Nowadays, i just enjoy watching and reading what others post. I've added another child (a girl) this past October (3 total) and I'm also a teacher. So, my time posting on here has decreased a little. Posting about the Summer League is my thing though.

I'd add Poythress and Ben Moore to the potential roster list.

Thanks! They've been added. I totally forgot about those two.

I'm excited about this new league. The competition will be a lot better.

Congrats! Yes, it would seem you have more important things to attend to regardless of the time of year.

Only 4 games? Or is it 4, then playoff type thing?

At least 5, at most 8 games for each team. It's a knockout-style tournament.

I am so glad the Orlando SL is no more-- coverage was poor and the only way to see all the games was to stream them on ESPN3.

From what I understand, it is 4 games plus a single game knock-out tournament.

I’m really excited to see Holiday, Leaf, Sumner, Anigbogu, and Alize. Was hoping they’d bring in Rawle Alkins.

Pritchard mentioned getting Ike healthy. that's a bit troubling.

still hoping Kelan Martin gets an invite. I suppose I could look to see everyone we worked out who went undrafted, but we'll get a roster soon enough.

He'll be playing for Utah's SL team.

Other SL signing notables with Indiana ties:

Robert Johnson (IU): Atlanta
James Blackmon (IU): Milwaukee
Thomas Bryant (IU): LAL
OG Anunoby (IU): Toronto
Isaac Haas (Purdue): Utah
Caleb Swanigan (Purdue): Portland
Vince Edwards (Purdue): Houston
Dakota Mathias (Purdue): Cleveland
Kelan Martin (Butler): Utah
Jaren Jackson Jr. (Chatard HS/MSU): Memphis
Bryant McIntosh(Greensburg HS/NWestern): New Orleans

That's all I have found for now. If anyone finds others, feel free to add it. Thanks!

Leslie was impressive in the Pacers summer league team last year. Was hoping for Angel Delgado and Desi Rodriguez but the Clippers got them earlier.

Looking at the roster, we do not have enough muscle up front. Some guys that, I think, are still without a team:

Xavier Cooks
Ajdin Penava
Thomas Welsh (just for the UCLA connection)
